Former NHGOP Chair endorses Karen Testerman over carpetbagger Scott Brown

May 14, 2014

For all intents and purposes it appears as if Scott Brown is going to be the Republican nominee to run against Jeanne Shaheen in the race to become the next New Hampshire Senator. He has the money, the name recognition, the support of the establishment in Washington, and the support of many Republican leaders in New Hampshire.

These are tough odds to overcome if you are a lesser known candidate and there are two of them–Karen Testerman and Jim Rubens–that I have been urging New Hampshire voters to take a look at before voting for the carpetbagger.

While most of the establishment here in New Hampshire appear ready to throw their support behind Scott Brown we finally have a big name Republican in the state who has decided to endorse one of the lesser-lights.

His name is Jack Kimball, he is the former NHGOP Chair, and he has endorsed Karen Testerman, here is what he had to say:

“At a time when our nation is thirsting for conservative candidates that will stand on principle, we now have a great candidate for U.S. Senate.”

He said Testerman is “rock solid on all the things that matter, and she will not waiver when she gets to Washington.  Her desire to restore our republic is at the forefront of her campaign.  She is a firm believer in Small Government and Free Markets.  She realizes that our Constitution is under attack and must be defended.

“ She knows that if we lose the 2nd Amendment, the others will also fall. Karen will fight for the rights of the unborn and will also lead in the fight to stop the dismantling of our Military. Integrity matters, and in Karen, you have someone who you can trust to keep her word.”

It is great to see a Republican leader stick by his principles to endorse a candidate based on policies and positions instead of just backing a big name candidate simply because he feels that candidate might have the best chance to win.

Will this have any effect among the electorate? Only time will tell but perhaps all is not lost in this state just yet. Of course Jack Kimball was the head of the NHGOP when the Democrats regained control in the 2012 election so I am not sure how influential this endorsement will end up being, but it is a start.
