Senate Democrat Bernie Sanders blocks Veterans Affairs accountability legislation
With the scandal surrounding Veterans Affairs seeming to grow more and more every day even some Democrats are questioning what is going on. Nancy Pelosi recently said she was not satisfied with the response from the president.
With this in mind one would think that when the House passed legislation, by a bipartisan vote of 390-33, which would make it easier to hold Veterans Affairs officials responsible for this scandal that it would be easily passed by the Senate as well and would be headed to Barack Obama’s desk for his signature but you would be wrong because Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders blocked this bill.
Surely the Senate would follow suit, right? Not exactly. Senator Bernie Sanders, a union-backed socialist from Vermont, objected on behalf of Senate Democrats to Rubio’s request. Instead of taking any action now, Sanders said he is going to hold a hearing—several weeks from now.
According to the article linked to above Bernie Sanders was acting on behalf of Senate Democrats, proving once and for all that the Democrats are putting partisan politics ahead of the health and well-being of those who have signed a blank check to the United States government up to, and including, their lives if needs be for the do not want to let the Republicans get credit for this. What more needs to be said? They can talk a good game but actions speak louder than words…..

This commie from Vermont must be suspicious of a bill only three pages long. Besides, how does one hide pork in a bill that size which legislaturors and others can actually read?

If the writer can not get Sen. Sanders’ party affliation correct why should anything else in this be considered — Sanders is an independent

You are 100% correct. Bernie Sanders is an independent who caucuses with the Democrats and is counted as a Democrat for committee purposes, but he is not a Democrat. The writer humbly apologizes and asks for forgiveness.
