Open thread for Sunday, July 13th: Beat on the Brat
Here is the open thread for Sunday, July 13th; please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
As usual you can follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is going on in the world. You can also subscribe to receive email updates and if you do you will never miss a post again.
In case you have not noticed I have replaced the old Twitter widget with a new, fully interactive Twitter widget. This widget updates my tweets in near real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. Is also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!?
Please check out what the New Federalist Party has been up to by clicking on the link to the right. On the NFP Facebook page you will find a link to the party platform. Check it out and if you like what you see we are currently looking for donations and delegates to the states for the convention.
Now on to the musical selection of the week: yesterday the last living original member of the Ramones, Tommy Ramone, died at the age of 65 so here are a couple of videos by the iconic punk band. The first is ‘Beat on the Brat’ performed live in 1977 and the second one is ‘The KKK Took my Baby Away’ performed live in Sweden in 1981.
Enjoy:

Didn’t know That they were all Dead …R.I.P.

I was listening to the Armstrong and Getty show this morning and they were talking about the well known morning radio host Anthony Cumia who was fired over his personal tweets.that were said to be “racially charged”, not racist, but “racially charged” tweets after he was assaulted and mugged by a group of “African-Americans”. Additionally, that joke of an Attorney General is going after a city parade float because it had Obamas image on an outhouse. My point isn’t the plethora of unreported reverse racism. It is the power the left has to control speech.
Individuals have always had personal anger and frustration they wanted to vent. And in the past, society has established who can be targeted and who can’t. Now, the left is in control of that list. Nobody of color can ever be criticized, ever. People on the left can never be criticized. Big government can never be criticized. People exercising their freedom of speech have to be put down if it doesn’t comport with the liberal dogma.
God help us.

I have read a little bit about Anthony’s situation and we can only hope the people rise up in protest to this. While what he wrote might be offensive to some that does not mean he does not have the right to express his opinion.
