Dick Cheney says the calls for Barack Obama’s impeachment are a distraction

July 15, 2014

Regular readers of America’s Watchtower know how I feel about the recent calls for the impeachment of Barack Obama. Here is what I wrote last week about this issue in case you missed it.

Basically I believe that because there is no way in hell the Democratic controlled Senate would ever vote to convict Barack Obama on impeachment charges even if the House did vote to impeach him that this is an exercise in futility and a distraction. The Republicans would be better off focusing on the issues heading into the 2014 election. If they cannot win on the issues they simply do not deserve to win.

Apparently Dick Cheney agrees with me, here is what he has to say about impeachment:

“I‘ve met Sarah Palin a few times, I like her, I think she’s entitled to her opinion — say whatever she wants to say. My view would be, at this point, pushing for impeachment isn’t productive,” Cheney said Tuesday on CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” when asked whether Palin is problematic for the GOP.

“I’m not prepared, at this point, to call for the impeachment of the president. I think he is the worst president of my lifetime. I fundamentally disagree with him. I think he’s doing a lot of things wrong. I’m glad to see House Republicans are challenging him, at least legally, at this point, but I think that gets to be a bit of a distraction just like the impeachment of Bill Clinton did,” the former vice president said.

I happen to believe that he got this one right, however in general I would like to see Dick Cheney shut the hell up from now until after the election is over.

If there is one person more hated by the left than George Bush it is Dick Cheney, if there is one person who can motivate a lethargic and unenthusiastic Democratic base before the election it is also Dick Cheney.

While I agree with Dick Cheney in this instance I think if he continues to talk before the election it will only serve to motivate the Democratic base and will do nothing to help the conservatives take over. In the end it may have the exact opposite effect. Dick Cheney is also a distraction…

TALK of impeachment is well-founded and highly recommended. It does, after all, publicly underscore the lawlessness of this White House occupant and of his Progressive allies.

However, until the GOP can be assured of a 2/3 Senate vote to convict and remove the Thug-in-Chief, impeachment is politically suicidal.

OH, and don’t get your hopes up that Boehner’s desperation suit against the White House squatter will be in any way effective.

What remedy remains? Massive disobedience, patriots chaining themselves to the WH fence and accepting jail time by doing so. Such selfless acts of civil disobedience will stoke a much-needed massive grassroots pushback against this tyranny. And only that sort of pushback will finally stem the tyrannical tide. Short of disobedience, everything else is poppycock.

They’re all in on it together. One big conspiracy involving the Democrats and RINOs. Profiteering is their god.

I think you are right about that. They get us running around in circles with stuff like this and then they do what they want when we are distracted.

Time to get rid of the federal government one way or another, and start anew. The Constitutional Republic of America. The federal government has only one duty tasked, and that is to defend against foreign invasion. Look at the Tex-Mex border. All the scandals and other criminal nonsense all around the world that the federal government is involved in, and the southern border invaded with the blessings of the federal government. Time for some rope and real justice.

Hey Cheney, go away. No one is buying your daughter’s book so knock it off. Another thing Dick, which of your government contractors has the diaper concessions at the southern border?
While your take on impeachment is correct you are wrong for the RINO party; you are a distraction and a motivation for the great unwashed on the left to vote this November. But then again maybe that’s the plan as the left and right cabal does what it must to ensure a Clinton victory in 2016.
