Texas Representative says Barack Obama wants to be impeached

July 26, 2014

I have written a couple of articles in recent weeks on the possibility of impeaching Barack Obama and my belief that the calls for impeachment are nothing but a distraction and would only serve to motivate a Democratic base which to this point is unenthusiastic about voting in November’s election.

According to this article Texas Representative Steve Stockman believes Barack Obama wants to be impeached for the very reason I stated above. (I like to think he has been reading America’s Watchtower but I an fairly certain he has not.)

Here is what he had to say:

“President Obama is begging to be impeached.”

“He wants us to impeach him now,” Stockman theorized, “before the midterm election because his senior advisors believe that is the only chance the Democratic Party has to avoid a major electoral defeat. Evidently Obama believes impeachment could motivate the Democratic Party base to come out and vote.”

I have no way of knowing if this is what is motivating Barack Obama at this point and neither does Steve Stockman but I will say this: if I can look at what is happening and come to the conclusion that impeachment proceedings would help the Democrats in November then certainly the team surrounding the president can come to the same conclusion that impeachment would be a net gain for the Democrats.

If this is true it is a double-edged sword: Barack Obama has nothing to lose unless he pushes it to the point where the American people rise up and say enough is enough and I don’t think that will happen by and large–certainly not to the point where Democratic voters will turn on him.

If this is what he is thinking he will continue to push the envelope as far as he can hoping for impeachment and if impeachment proceedings do not come he still wins because he has implemented more of his agenda without working through the Congress.

Neither of those options should be appealing to opponents of the president’s agenda so where does that leave us? It appears as if once again the Democratic party has out-maneuvered the so-called leadership of the Republican party. Barack Obama is playing chess while the Republicans are playing checkers and they are about to be checkmated…

Excellent post. Barack Obama and his cronies are evil, conniving and deceptive. As it turns out, the rumors that Republicans are going to impeach Barack Obama is coming straight out of the White House (Obama White House Pushing Rumors of Impeachment).

They’re doing everything possible to rile up the base for the mid-term 2014 elections. I don’t think that it will work. Number one, Republicans will not bite and number two, the people who came out en masse for Obama in 2008 and 2012 did so to vote for Obama. He’s not on the ballot this November and that is that.

Thank you. Somehow I missed the story about the White House being behind the push for impeachment but I wouldn’t doubt they could be doing something like this. I do know Obama has been trying to rally the base by talking about this.

As much as President Obama deserves to be impeached and as much as I would like to see it happen, the fact is it will never happen. Not now and not even if the Republicans when control of the Senate in November. It takes a minimum of two thirds of the Senate agreeing on impeachment to get a conviction. As you have said repeatly, impeachment proceedings would be just the kind of diversion that Obama would love to have during the rest of his term. As James Carville said on FOX, President Obama doesn’t care what the American people want or what they think of him.

That was an interesting quote by Carville, wasn’t it? That might be the truest thing he has ever said.

Impeachment or not, Boehner’s lawsuit can potentially cause the same result. Be interesting to see.

I don’t think Boehner’s lawsuit is going anywhere and I don’t think he cares if it does or not. I think Boehner is doing this to make it look as though he is doiing something when in reality he is doing nothing.

With the media carrying their water there is the distinct possibility that Valerie and company may be able to create the illusion that the republicans are bringing articles of impeachment when they actually are not. Rumor and innuendo are great motivators for the ill informed unsophisticated great unwashed. Coupled with the increasingly disaffected electorate on the right this could turn out to be a perfect storm for the democrats . Let’s hope not.

It is interesting you say that because bydesign above wrote that the White House is actually behind the calls for impeachment.

The Republicans in Congress need to stay as far away from impeaching President Obama as they possibly can. Any fodder they supply to him or the media will certainly be used against them.

I agree Larry. The only problem is that Obama knows this as well and will take good advantage of it. How far will he go?

I have no doubt that he will go as far as he thinks he needs to go. He has no compunction about doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and however he wants. If it takes lying to the American people, yet again, that’s exactly what he will do.

It’s pretty easy to be ahead of people when you’re leading them down a pre-designed paved road of Prediction. [Lawlessness is easy when you’re depraved with a darkened, hard heart.] Esp. when those being led are ‘conditioned’ to think the ‘best’ and believe their leaders are for them.
Believing the best is good if you’re believing IN THE BEST (remember God, He states, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12. This Regime is a death train.
