Open thread for Sunday, August 10th: Phantom of the Opera
Here is the open thread for Sunday, August 10th; please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
First a little site news: WordPress has finally made comment liking available. Now in addition to liking a post you can either give a thumbs up or a thumbs down to an individual comment or you can give it a like–or you can give a thumbs up and a like. (I think I prefer we use the like feature, but it is up to you guys) It is about time this feature was made available!
Last week on America’s Watchtower we discussed a variety of issues: Barney Frank admitted Barack Obama lied about Obamacare, the FBI is going to monitor news reports about itself, MSNBC slipped up and said the president was from Kenya, Barack Obama expanded the quarantine list through Executive Order, the hypocrite Ann Coulter blasted Rand Paul, another company was targeted by Operation Choke Point, and the list of Federal employees whose emails have gone missing now numbers over 20.
You can follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening. You can also subscribe to receive email updates and if you do you will never miss a post again.
The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!?
I decided this week that I was going to share some heavy metal for my musical selection and I chose Iron Maiden performing ‘Phantom of the Opera.” However, as Iron Maiden fans know, this presented a bit of a dilemma: Paul Di’Anno or Bruce Dickinson? Do you go with the original or do you choose the man who most people associate with Iron Maiden? In the end I had to choose the original so here is their performance of this song from 1980.
Enjoy:

It was really annoying this morning to watch clips of Obama , the one man decision maker and ruler of America who is guided by Muslims and Muslim sycophants in his White House, declare “We made some mistakes” which translates into the intelligence community and the american people. The fat lady has sung and continues to sing. And speaking if fat ladies Hillary is licking her lips over the disintegration of the western world’s power, ability along with its refusal to save itself, all led by her former boss. Our only two allies in this war for survival, China and Russia, have been alienated and feasting on their unbelievable luck that the world’s once only superpower is destroying itself from within. What the threat of a hot war ending in mutual destructipn couldn’t achieve an anonymous community organizer from Kenya transplanted to Chicago via Hawaii, Columbia and Hatvard was able to pull off without its enemies firing a shot. We are reaching the tipping point where we don’t deserve to survive. But who cares? What with the NFL preseason upon us all is well!!!

He took credit when it was good for his reelection, but now he is blaming intelligence now that it has gone bad. Typical!

Alike Petermc3, that’s what’s coming to my mind too, esp. after having Nero leadership as an example of where this Nation is being forced into.
“The Causes for the fall of the Roman Empire”

Antagonism between the Senate and the Emperor
Decline in Morals
Political Corruption and the Praetorian Guard
Fast expansion of the Empire
Constant Wars and Heavy Military Spending
Barbarian Knowledge of Roman Military Tactics
Failing Economy
Unemployment of the Working Classes (The Plebs)
The ‘Mob’ and the cost of the ‘Games’
Decline in Ethics and Values
Slave Labor
Natural Disasters
Christianity {God’s Truth of Hope, not Christian-dumb}
Barbarian Invasion
Transformation – {usurpers & corruption, incompetency, societal breakdown (immorality / depravity}
And a line from the lyrics from your posted vid: You damaged my mind and my soul
Like the line in the movie “Absolute Power”: “Selling sin is easy.”

“Heather then posits what amounts to a domino theory—namely that pressure on peoples very far away from the Empire could result in sufficient pressure on peoples on the Empire’s borders to make them contemplate the risk of full scale immigration to the empire.”

Seems like the ‘play books’ works for today as well.

It is the Hegelian dialectic. They are getting us to fight between ourselves while implementing their agenda while we are distracted.

While the decline and fall of Western Europe and the USA in some ways mirrors that of the Roman Empire what differentities them is that the educated and techogically advanced Europeans have forgotten the hell that appeasement wrought upon then 70 years ago although well documented historically. And even as anti Jewish hatred spreads from the Middle East to Western Europe and the United States the wealthy Jewish elite denying enablers support those whose goal is to have their heads on pikes outside every capital city. The spoiled lazy people of all these countries continue to elect those whose greed for wealth and power is insatiable and transcends understanding and the needs of the people. The rable of the Roman Empire did not have the right to vote.
