Barack Obama delays Executive action on amnesty until after the midterm election

September 6, 2014

Barack Obama promised that if the Congress did not give him what he wanted on the issue of amnesty for illegal immigrants he would take it on his own by the end of the Summer through Executive Order.

Barack Obama knew all along that while most of the establishment Republicans support amnesty for illegals that they would still use it as a campaign issue in November, and he thought he could deal with that opposition by calling the Republicans the “party of no.” He thought he could use this issue to paint the Republicans as racists even though many of them support amnesty. But I think he probably did not see the backlash coming from vulnerable Democrats, and when they spoke out it eliminated the possibility of labeling the Republicans as racist because at that point the Democrats would have to be painted with the same brush.

And those vulnerable Democrats spoke out loudly and pleaded with the President not to do anything before the midterm election because they feared for their power. It is interesting because this shows us that the American people do not want this action to be taken and yet they only spoke out because they did not want it to cost them at the polls. The Republicans might have a problem with the manner in which the President plans to enact amnesty, but they do not oppose amnesty, while the Democrats do not seem to have a problem with the President usurping their power as long as it does not negatively affect them.

All of these two-faced cowards on both sides of the aisle finally put up enough of a stink to persuade Barack Obama to delay Executive action on immigration reform until after the election

  Here is more:

Abandoning his pledge to act by the end of summer, President Barack Obama has decided to delay any executive action on immigration until after the November congressional elections, White House officials said.

Two White House officials said Obama concluded that circumventing Congress through executive actions on immigration during the campaign would politicize the issue and hurt future efforts to pass a broad overhaul.

The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the president’s decision before it was announced, said Obama made his decision Friday as he returned to Washington from a NATO summit in Wales.

They said Obama called a few allies from Air Force One to inform them of his decision, and that the president made more calls from the White House on Saturday.

The officials said Obama had no specific timeline to act, but that he still would take his executive steps before the end of the year.

Needless to say, this announcement has infuriated immigration reform activists who are still stupid enough to believe anything that comes from Barack Obama’s mouth:

“We are bitterly disappointed in the president and we are bitterly disappointed in the Senate Democrats,” said Frank Sharry, executive director of America’s Voice. “We advocates didn’t make the reform promise; we just made the mistake of believing it. The president and Senate Democrats have chosen politics over people, the status quo over solving real problems.”

A politician putting politics above anything else should not be surprising to anybody yet there still seems to be a group of people who think that Barack Obama is different from all the other politicians–perhaps this will finally shine a light on that fallacy.

When the surge of illegal immigrants crossing the border was at its peak Barack Obama tried to use this crisis to gain support with the American people for his immigration policies. He said that this surge had to be dealt with and there could be no delay, and that is what he used to justify his intention to circumvent the Congress on this issue, yet now he is the one delaying and it was done for purely political purposes.

In the end the American people are not being represented by anyone in the Federal government, if they were amnesty would be dead on arrival and the President would not thwart the will of the people through Executive action. But nobody is listening to the American people from the President all the way down to the Congress.

They have their agenda and they are going to stick to it, they just do not have the balls to face the American people and do it before the election. They would rather the American people do not know what they truly stand for. They are supposed to represent the people but they only care about themselves and their power.

Perhaps if these people were listening to their constituents they would not be vulnerable in the first place. Just saying…

That kid thing crossing the border and communities finding out they had to pay for their education took the spring out of the step for awhile.

Pre election or post election, it really makes no difference. The dufus american people who believe the republicans, for whom I have little regard, are waging a war on women, who believe in global warming, who believe the communist SEIU thugs picketing for $15 minimum wage are fast food workers, who still belive in and support Obama and his policies will grant democrats s dispensation on this issue . The bottom line is that neither side is on our side and we have no choice but to brace for the coming surge.

Well, Peter, if MORE people thought they way your last sentence stated, we would NOT be in the shape we are in. The problem is, they vote D or R and that is that….we know that if you go outside the box you are throwing away your vote! Right? I mean isn’t that what each party tells us????

Yes I do! Back then there was some corruption, but most people had morals and ethics….now fast forward to this administration and corruption is their middle name. I fear the “good old days” will never pop up again for anyone. At least we have good memories growing up as kids, I cannot say what this new generation will have for memories.

You nailed it Peter! Neither party is on our side and it really does not matter when amnesty happens because it is going to happen and it will be the downfall of this country.

Remind me WHO Congress is supposed to be making decisions for!!! I seem to be mixed up about that. I thought they were supposed to have our best interest at heart, have I been mistaken????

What they are supposed to be doing and what they are doing are two different things. But of course you knew that.

A bit off topic but Pat Paulson had one plank in his platform: if elected he promsed to lower the age puberty. Ya gotta love it.

Well, is it any more bizarre than what we have going on now? Who would have thought THIS shit could be gotten away with by a sitting President and his administration? Once, the Office of the Presidency meant something…guess it still does, but not what we expect it to be. The media should be ashamed of themselves for allowing everything to be covered up and sugar coated as it has been. They have little worth, to me, anymore.

The MSM is of no worth whatsoever, they have an agenda and they push it. I like to think that is why news media seems to be dying but there are still too many people who believe the MSM is reporting the news and not trying to create or slant the news.

It used to be that the media was not biased (or at least did not appear to be), not any more. One has to wonder if they get their cut under the table to leave something out of the news, or to add a little bit extra? So much for reliable journalism, if it even exists any more.

I think they used to hide their bias whereas now they do not even see the need to do so.
