Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor says Americans should be alarmed by the spread of drone use
I have not written anything about the spread of drone use in the United States in quite some time but longtime readers of America’s Watchtower know that I am very concerned with this issue.
Yesterday, on the anniversary of September 11th, Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor, an appointee of Barack Obama, addressed Oklahoma City University’s law school and she warned that Americans should be alarmed by the spread of drone use in this country.
Here is part of what she said:
There are drones flying over the air randomly that are recording everything that’s happening on what we consider our private property. That type of technology has to stimulate us to think about what is it that we cherish in privacy and how far we want to protect it and from whom. Because people think that it should be protected just against government intrusion, but I don’t like the fact that someone I don’t know…can pick up, if they’re a private citizen, one of these drones and fly it over my property.
There is an old saying that goes something like this; politics make strange bedfellows, and this is one such case. I never thought I would agree with Justice Sotomayor but I agree with her 100% on this issue and I thing that all Americans should be alarmed at the increase of drone use in the United States.

No more skinny dipping….

Yeah, I would advise against that…Big Brother, and the neighbors, could be watching!

Dang! Common sense from a liberal judge? What in the world will happen next?

I know! I almost feel dirty agreeing with her, but she got this one right.

Strange isn’t it. Once they get appointed to the court they frequently flip/

Barry cannot be happy. If I were here I would be worried about the NSA snooping in on her to dig something up. And then there is the IRS…

I hope she finishes flipping, but I doubt it. There’s a lot of Kool Aide in her past.
In the mean time, Hell is now an ice rink.

I wouldn’t expect this to become the norm, there have already probably been calls made to her office “asking” her to back down.

The only privacy there is: is behind the ‘transparency of the leaders closed doors’!
Like this judge, when her privacy is no longer respected by the Droner’s, she doesn’t like it, esp. when those behind it are ‘exempt’ (or thought to be). Fearing loss of privacy is one thing, knowing there’s a GOD who can see the intentions of our hearts, another. No wonder the ‘progressives’ kicked Him out and replaced Him w/ social justice!

I was going to comment on the same thing zip. It appears the only time democrats agree with republicans, is when the laws they pass, actually start to affect them as well.

I think you both are right on the money here!

This doesn’t really surprise me. At a high level, liberal and conservatives really believe in much the same things. Now, on how to get there, well that’s the rub.

I would agree with that to a point, but I would say that the Republicans and the Democrats in leadership want the same thing–control. They only differ on what aspects of a person’s life they should be able to control.

I agree. A liberal is not necessarily a democrat and a conservative is not necessarily a republican.

Yeah, sometimes we may intertwine those terms but they really should be separate.
