Then vs now: Joe Biden mocks Mitt Romney in 2012 about going to war with Syria

  We all remember during the 2012 presidential campaign when the left ridiculed Mitt Romney for calling Russia America’s number one geopolitical threat only to find out earlier this year that he was right after all.

  Now that Barack Obama has commenced bombing targets in Syria I think that it is time to look back at what Joe Biden had to say about Mitt Romney on Syria during the same election.

  Of course it now looks as if Mitt Romney was right once again. We can debate whether or not the United States should have invaded Iraq in the first place, but the fact remains that we were there and Mitt Romney thought it was a mistake to leave Iraq. Barack Obama made the decision to leave Iraq without a status of forces agreement, and it matters not whether we should have been there in the first place or not. That does not relieve Barack Obama from his decision to leave the war-torn country, he knew what he was getting into when he took the job and this decision was his, even though he tried to claim it was not once things went bad. 

  Supporters of the President will claim that we are not at war with Syria but are hitting selected targets in that country which are enemies to the United States but the fact remains that we are now bombing sections of a country which is embroiled in a civil war. Let me ask Barack Obama’s supporters one simple question: if the tables were turned and Syria started bombing selected targets in the United States would you consider that to be an act of war?
