The latest New Hampshire poll (09/26/14) shows Walt Havenstein within single digits of Governor Hassan

September 26, 2014

The latest PPP poll, which is considered to be Democratic leaning, is out and there is a bit of a surprise contained within. This poll shows Republican candidate Walt Havenstein to be within single digits of Democratic governor Maggie Hassan.

  Here is more:

the poll’s more surprising finding came in the governor’s race, where for the first time Republican Walt Havenstein was within single digits of Gov. Maggie Hassan.

In the governor’s race poll Hassan leads Havenstein among independents 51 to 43 percent and among women, 55 to 41 percent. Havenstein leads among men, 49 to 46 percent.

havensteinThis is very interesting because Governor Hassan is still popular among the people of New Hampshire. The fact that Walt Havenstein is this close to Governor Hassan at this point is amazing. Even when the Republicans were able to make huge gains in New Hampshire in 2010 the man Governor Hassan replaced, Governor Lynch, always managed to stay above what was happening nationally. He was called the last Democrat standing after that infamous election.

Governor Hassan does not appear to be so lucky but according to the poll she has a large lead among independents and that is the largest voting block in New Hampshire so it is going to be very hard for Walt Havenstein to make up the difference.

Still, it appears as if Barack Obama’s unpopularity at this point is having some effect on this race so it will be interesting to see if Walt Havenstein can take advantage of a president who is becoming more and more unpopular every day.

OT- another fine upstanding citizen coming out of the Illinois ranks. Is it any wonder that Obama turned out as he has? Anything that has to do with Chicago OR Cook County is questionable, enjoy the read!

Anyone want to bet the Senate majority will come down to that fiasco that is brewing down in LA? Their primary will be in November if no one get 50 percent and of course three people will be running. The final vote will be in December, you betcha how that will turn.

I have been watching a bit on C-Span on the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner that Obama is speaking at. I do not think it is my eye sight, but the right side of his face is looking emaciated or gaunt looking with the cheek sunken in…something is not right with his appearance. He appears to be a lot thinner than usual. It is up on a big screen on HD, so it really stands out.

Interesting, I did not watch it though. Could it be he is losing the will to fight? Probably not.
