When asked about rising healthcare costs Barack Obama blames companies for not “effectively” shopping around

October 3, 2014

Barack Obama is at it again. We all know that the President loves to spread the blame around when his policies are not working as advertised and he did it again yesterday.

When Millennium Steel general manager Mihir Paranjape about the rising costs on healthcare Barack Obama basically told him that it was his company’s fault they were not able to find a lower rate for its employees.

  Here is the question:

“We are seeing almost a double-digit increase in health-care costs every year,” Millennium Steel general manager Mihir Paranjape told President Obama. “Do you think that trend is going to go down, and what can we do to control that trend?”

And this is how Barack Obama answered the question:

“I think that’s really interesting, you’re gonna have to talk to Henry,” Obama replied, referring to Henry Jackson, Millennium Steel’s CEO. “No, no, no, this is serious,” he continued, when several  audience members laughed, “The question is whether you guys are shopping effectively enough.”

It could not possibly be Obamacare so it must be the fault of the company for not doing its due diligence, right?

Not so according to the Federal Reserve Banks:

According to every Federal Reserve Bank that has released such a report, businesses say that their health care costs are growing due to the health care law. The New York Federal Reserve says a majority of businesses are planning for Obamacare to increase the cost of their health coverage; the Philadelphia Fed noted that Obamacare is keeping many more businesses from hiring.

The Dallas and Atlanta Federal Reserve Banks have come to similar conclusions.

  And here is more:

An American Health Policy Institute study co-authored by former Health and Human Services deputy secretary Tevi Troy and economist Mark Wilson found earlier this year that large businesses will face cost increases of between $4,800 and $5,900 per employee over the next ten years, solely due to the health-care law.

So apparently nobody knows what the hell they are doing except the President. This is akin to Barack Obama claiming the economy is improving but the American people just do not feel it.

After all, Obama did say maybe it is better to take an aspirin than have the surgery. Not to worry, after we are done with Insurance companies, the government will just give us an aspirin and it will be far cheaper. Can’t wait for the cost savings.

The chickens are coming home to roost. He will not be able hide from this come next year. Not that he cares. He’s done what he set out to do and he will be so pleased when We The People begin to clamor for the government to do something and, of course, the government will be ready with their long sought for Universal Health Care (Single Payer) and Americans will be forever screwed. Everything is going according to plan, my friend.

Yeah, he does not really care because the end goal was always to destroy the system so that he could fix the system, and by fix the system I mean single-payer. Thesis/anti-thesis/synthesis.

Yep, Jim, that is what the end is, Universal Health Care and we will LIKE it! I have to wait every 3 months to see when our rate for the retirees goes from $50 a month to $495 a month for the 2 of us. On a fixed income that $495 will be a big chunk of what we have each month. There was a time that we felt we were SET for retirement, not anymore. We are frugal, but will that be enough with all the rising costs of what we buy? I doubt it. Our taxes keep going up and we keep letting our “electeds” (probably not a word, but I am using it) give themselves pay raises on OUR dime. Is there something wrong with that picture? Do they even remember what it is like to question IF they should spend money on something or just save the money? I doubt it, as well.
All the problems we have in the US and Obama keeps golfing, IF I ever played golf, I would probably have to give it up as a pleasure I cannot afford anymore. We have alot of those now, things we cannot afford. BUT, the entitled ones in the White House seem to have plenty of money to spend…….OUR MONEY! Guess I am just in a pissed off mood anymore when I hear all about their next trip!

Spell check says electeds is not a word but go for it anyway! There is no doubt single-payer is the goal and if that means hurting people like you and your husband in the short term in order to get single payer in the long term this regime does not have a problem doing that whatsoever. It is really sad to see how many people are being hurt by this while Obama runs around the company claiming it is a success.

If president Obola can manage to originate the world wide Ebola pandemic from our shores then not only will he succeed in breaking our health care system but also drain the treasury as we take responsibility for the entire world’s treatment… just a dream I had last night.

Peter it IS our responsibility to take care of the world, didn’t you get the memo? Sick, isn’t it? If we kept our noses out of others peoples business we would be alot better off.

The old blame game; began back in the Garden after the fall and has been popular ever since! Makes one wonder how much of a ‘kick back’ he’s getting for his acting career. Those in Hollywood should be jealous! Tax-free ‘under the table payment’ for a ‘political crisis actor.’ No concern of his – he gets his insurance for free and will till he dies (and it’s not the kind forced on the public).
He’s also stating that the economy is having a come back. Tell that to those living in tents under bridges because they lost their house, their job and can’t find work!

The only thing that surprises me about his comments is that he didn’t find a way to blame Bush. That’s what he usually does.

Seriously, he simply refuses to take responsibility for any of the policies he has implemented. I stand amazed at his ability to shed blame like water off a duck.
