Has Barack Obama’s “war on coal” turned the coal states red for the foreseeable future?

November 8, 2014

Union-Coal-Miners-For-Obama-870AM One of the things that is very frustrating to many of us is the fact that unions continue to support Barack Obama and the Democrats when they obviously do not have their best interests at heart. The most glaring example of this is with the coal unions.

But over the course of the last year we have seen the coal unions begin to fight back against Barack Obama’s use of the EPA to stifle the industry, I have written about this several times, the  latest being here.

And it culminated with the Republicans winning big in several coal states; according to this article it may have a lasting impact on future elections.

  Here is more:

Coal-heavy districts in West Virginia, Kentucky and Illinois that had been steadily moving away from Democrats in recent elections appear to have completed that shift Tuesday, when they overwhelmingly backed Republicans who vowed to oppose what they call President Barack Obama’s “war on coal.”

Democrats’ support in coal areas may never come back, said Andrew Wheeler of the law firm Faegre Baker Daniels, a former GOP staff director for Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

“This has been a growing trend in coal politics and will outlast President Obama’s tenure,” Wheeler said.

In West Virginia, once a long-time Democratic stronghold, Republicans will take control of both houses of the state legislature for the first time since 1931. Republicans picked up seven seats in the state Senate to bring the balance to 17-17, and then Democrat Daniel Hall switched parties Wednesday to give the majority to the GOP

Many of us have been trying to warn people that by voting for Barack Obama in 2012 people who work in the coal industry were likely voting themselves out of a job and it has begun to happen with coal plants shutting down all across the country.

It did not have to be this way, but sometimes people need to see things with their own eyes and that appears to be what is now happening. Let’s hope it is not too little too late.

There’s no doubt Obama’s irresponsible EPA regulations would have caused the closing of many coal-fired power plants. Ironically, the natural gas boom due to fracking beat them to it. For the same reason CO2 emissions in the US fallen more than any other country for the same reason. Sadly, that hasn’t stopped the EPA from doing their best to kill even more jobs.

Next on the agenda following the killing of Obolacare should be the reigning in of the EPA.

Funny how a lack of a paycheck and insurance coverage tends to make a person change their mind on how they vote. We tried telling them, but they supported their unions, this is their payback. It does not make me happy this has happened, because they have families to support and lives to live and now they are at rock bottom. We knew that Obama was going after the coal plants, why didn’t THEY see that?

Sometimes people have to see to believe and that is what happened here, I just wish it didn’t have to come down to this.

The thieves, liars and conner’s are equating even clean coal w/ global warming (whatever works), just like when Bill Clinton closed one down where his buddy Rockefeller had property in the Jackson Hole area (“They have a ranch in the Grand Teton National Park in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. President Bill Clinton, a friend of Rockefeller’s, and the Clinton family vacationed at the ranch in August 1995.) Jay Rockefeller after 911 stated, …’It is in the nature of these weapons, and the way they are targeted against civilian populations, that documented capability and demonstrated intent may be the only warning we get. To insist on further evidence could put some of our fellow Americans at risk.’ – “Americans at risk” didn’t include those that died from the 911 false flag – or from radiation poisoning: http://www.veteranstoday.com/2014/06/02/vt-nuclear-education-undeniable-proof-of-911-as-a-nuclear-event/ Rockefeller was most likely ‘right in the planning of that’ event – used to justify their war – Just like what’s going on in Syria today with the bombings.
Trying to find info online about that ‘connection’ is tough – was much easier years ago to find the facts.

Yep, they are the elite. We are the lowly wage earners. There is becoming a bigger gap between the two each year. It runs in both parties, so I see a blurring now when I look at Dems or Reps. There is becoming less and less difference between the two.

Exactly Lou, there are two classes in America; the rulers and the ruled. In the end the Democrats and the Republicans are part of the same class.
