Gary Sinise accepts Veterans Advocacy award

November 15, 2014

120427_GarySinise_333x480 While Hollywood has been infested with liberals it must not be forgotten that there are some exceptions to the rule. Most of the conservatives in Hollywood remain silent because to do otherwise would be to hammer a nail in the coffin of their careers. The Hollywood elitists are not as tolerant as they would have us believe–at least when it comes to conservatism.

Gary Sinise is one such exception: From what I have been able to gather on the internet he leans Republican. This does not, as is evidenced by Republican leadership, mean that he is a conservative. I do not know where he stands on many issues but if I had to guess  he probably has libertarian leanings and to be honest that would fall in line with my beliefs.

But that is neither here nor there for there is one thing that cannot be denied about Gary Sinise: He is the leading voice in Hollywood for our veterans. He has dedicated much of his free time to veteran affairs and  yesterday he was honored for his work when he accepted the Charles Durning Patriotism Award.

  Here is more:

At Friday’s ceremony, Sinise received loud applause before graciously stepping on stage to receive his award.

“We’re all here today for the men and women in uniform who serve and sacrifice for our country and defend our freedoms around the world. I have many veterans in my own family and so my mission to support them starts there,” said Sinise.

He went on to praise the freedoms Americans enjoy and cautioned against taking them for granted.

“They say it’s easy to take our freedom for granted. Well, I just try to spread that message wherever I go and talk about the people that I meet and the marvelous extraordinary people serving our country all over the world and what they do,” he said.

Sinise elaborated on his strong sense of duty in shedding light on everything from the VA scandal, to ensuring that America’s fighting men and women receive their dues in the eyes of the public, who remain free while veterans often go unnoticed in American society.

“Never, never, never take this freedom for granted, it is precious and we are blessed that we have men and women who are willing to serve,” Sinise said.

Thank you Mr. Sinise for ensuring that our heroes are not forgotten. And congratulations on your award because it is well-deserved.
