Barack Obama to announce immigration Executive Action on Thursday
The big news of the day is the report that Barack Obama will announce his Executive Order on immigration tomorrow before heading to Nevada on Friday to celebrate.
I have to be honest; I really have no desire to write about this story, my heart is not in it, because we have known this was coming for quite some time and I suppose I have already thrown in the towel.
But here we go anyway:
Barack Obama will make his announcement tomorrow and according to the New York Times the order will fall short of providing Obamacare to the newly legalized immigrants, but we all know eventually it will. (Just as Bart Stupac about that.)
The Republicans will be up in arms decrying this abuse of power. They will threaten to cut off funding and they will threaten to sue the President but nothing will come from it because the Republicans are on board with the general outline of the plan.
The fix is in and it has been for quite awhile because the Republicans want immigration reform as well. They are not upset that it is coming but rather the manner in which it is coming. And when you come right down to it I doubt they are really all that upset Barack Obama is going to use Executive Orders to implement it because they hope to one day hold the Presidency and they would like to have this power when and if they ever do. What they really are upset about is the fact that they will not get credit for passing immigration reform with the illegal immigrants who stand to benefit from this.
The Republicans will kick and scream, playing to the base, but in the end both sides got what they have always wanted. Both sides are playing their roles in this performance perfectly on stage and all we an do is sit in the audience and watch this come to its predetermined finale.

Let’s hope it does not come to that, but it almost seems as if that is what Barack Obama wants.

If the House bill takes up the Senate bill, they can do what they want to with it but it is a trap. It will be sent back and settled by reconciliation. That is what the plan is IMHO. No one is talking about securing the border which tells me the fix is in. We need to keep our eye on what they are doing with the CR. Going on unnoticed had been a push for a Ommnibus spending bill. This would have taken off any chance of defunding certain section, and nothing could be done for a year. Obama’s action appears to take this off the table. I have been meaning to post on it, but here and there one can pick up that Boehner did not want the CR. I give credit to Sessions in the Senate for derailing this and putting pressure on Boehner. All this IMHO.

Interesting, I have to admit I have not been paying attention to what is happening with the CR and the omnibus yet but it looks like I should start.

Steve and Bunker, there is alot going on right now that we do not know about and probably will not until all of a sudden the media will report on it, “after the fact”. I have gotten to the point that nothing shocks me about what is going down, it is planned and calculated and who ever gets in the way will be plowed over. This is really bad!

This is exactly right. Both sides are against us.

Our first latino president is playing his hand perfectly while Boner and McConnell play dumb. And as Bunker points out the border stays open, our uninformed public remains uninformed with the major networks providing cover for Benito Obama’s machinations. This latest outrage will have to take a number behind Benghazi, Fast and Furious, Ebola, et al. So once again quoting our next president in waiting, “What does it matter?’
