House votes to defund Barack Obama’s Executive immigration

January 14, 2015

Earlier today the House passed a bill which would fund the Department of Homeland Security while defunding Barack Obama’s Executive immigration.

  Here is more:

The House approved a Department of Homeland Security appropriations package Wednesday that lawmakers say will block President Obama’s executive actions on immigration.

The $39.7 billion DHS appropriations bill to fund the department through fiscal year 2015 passed 236 – 191.

A series of amendments to the bill — aimed at blocking Obama’s executive actions — passed in advance of its final approval.

The amendment spearheaded by Reps. Robert Aderholt (R-AL), Mick Mulvaney (R-SC), and Lou Barletta (R-PA) — intended to block any and all funding for President Obama’s executive amnesty announced on November 20, 2014, future similar policies, and the so-called Morton memos — passed 237 – 190

Most of the comments by Republicans dealt with the overreach of the President on this issue and the lead came from John Boehner who, before the vote, actually sounded as if he was willing to stand up to Barack Obama for once.

Here is more on John Boehner:

John Boehner created the first live-action high drama on the House floor Wednesday, staking out a no-compromise position on blocking Barack Obama’s sweeping immigration plan and reading aloud 22 examples of the president’s past claims that he lacked the authority to put it into action.

Obama outlined the plan on Nov. 20, promising to mainstream 5 million or more illegal immigrants by guaranteeing – without input from Congress – that they won’t be deported during his time in office.

Angering Democrats, the House speaker spoke during a floor debate to defend an amendment to the Homeland Security Department’s budget bill that would forbid the cabinet agency from spending any money to implement it.

Boehner openly mocked Obama for what he said was an effort to evade the U.S. Constitution, throwing in his face his past claims that he wasn’t a ‘king’ or an ’emperor.’

‘To think that the president of the United States studied constitutional law!’ he boomed. ‘He didn’t just learn constitutional law. He taught it himself.’

‘Enough is enough!’

On Wednesday, Boehner was in no mood to compromise.

Obama’s unilateral move, he said, is an ‘executive overreach … an affront to the rule of law and to the Constitution itself.’

‘What we are dealing with here is a president who has ignored the people, ignored the Constitution, and even his own past statements,’ he said.

john-boehner-crying John Boehner went on to  list 22 times Barack Obama admitted he did not have the power to act on immigration before he did act on it. Barack Obama is usually somebody who is mightily impressed with his own words but somehow I do not think he gives a damn about what he said on this issue in the past.

Of course we have seen the Republicans talk tough before only to back down when it really counted. I believe Barack Obama is more than willing to shut down the Department of Homeland Security over this issue because he feels the Republicans will take the blame. Will the Republicans have the same courage of their convictions once the President vetoes this legislation? History probably provides us with the answer.

In the end the establishment Republicans will get what they want because they all favor amnesty of some kind. This move will give them the cover they believe they need. They will claim they gave it their best shot but that the security of the American people is what is most important so they could not allow the President to shut down Homeland Security over this issue.

Need I say it again? Hegelian Dialectic…

Boehner is probably betting the Senate can not override a veto. That said, I’m please the GOPers are trying to defund Obama’s amnesty program. Now, if they’d defund Obama, we’d have something to get excited about.

I think that is exactly what Boehner is thinking; this way he makes it look like he is doing something when in reality he is doing nothing. Still, they have to take on this issue in order to bring attention to it.

Oboner is counting on Obummer to outfox him and the RINO elite. His criticism of the big man may turn out to be nothing short of a wink and a nod since anything short of closing a golf course seems not to bother the traitor in chief. One thing for sure is the five million will grow exponentially as will the budget.

Padding the pockets of the DHS is the same as extending free reins of the ‘Reigning Regime.’ DHS is not PRO AMERiCA. But it is the Nazi version of the elitist protection, of which Boner fits in … so he’s happy.
Add the Machiavellian tactic of PIRACY to Hegelian Dialectic and you have: Political expediency is placed above morality and the use of craft and deceit to maintain the authority and carry out the policies of a ruler is described. Subtle or unscrupulous cunning, deception, expediency, or dishonesty: ‘He resorted to Machiavellian tactics in order to get ahead.’
