Scott Walker surges into the lead in the latest 2016 New Hampshire Republican primary Presidential poll
Before Mitt Romney made his official(?) announcement that he would not seek the Republican Presidential nomination in 2016 he had a slight lead over the other establishment candidate, Jeb Bush, in a New Hampshire poll.
It had been speculated that the establishment, not being split by two candidates, would coalesce around Jeb Bush but that does not seem to be the case to this point.
With an anti-establishment feeling within the Republican voters–which I believe the establishment is underestimating–and coupled with Scott Walker’s performance at the recent “Iowa Freedom Summit” he appears to be the main benefactor of Mitt Romney’s decision at this early date.
Now the latest New Hampshire poll is out and it shows Scott Walker surging to the lead in the first in the nation primary.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker leads a host of potential 2016 GOP presidential contenders in a new poll in the early presidential state of New Hampshire out Wednesday.
Mr. Walker leads the NH1 automated poll, conducted Feb. 2-3, with 21.2 percent of the vote, followed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 14.4 percent, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky at 8.3 percent, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 8.2 percent.
It is still very early but with a lead of roughly seven points it could indicate the establishment might be in trouble at this point in time. Of course the money has not started flowing in and we know where the establishment money will go. Will Scott Walker be able to maintain this momentum or in the end will the establishment be too powerful a machine, and too rich, for him to be able to keep up when faced with a lesser war chest?

I sure wish he some pizaaz. Fire in the belly. Whatever. Rally the folks. Unless we do it, we will sure have a hard time.

We saw what happened in the last two Presidential elections when we had a candidate who could not rally the troops…

I sent Scott some decent donations during his recall and his reelection. Anyone who can stand up to the dirt the union thugs threw at him gets my money. But charisma? Non-existent.

Yeah, they came after him hard and he did not back down and he won. So he is a fighter and that seems to be rare in the Republican party these days.

Can we surmise Walker’s accomplishments in Wisconsin without charisma pales when compared with Obama’s charismatic nation destroying agenda ? Ignorance is not always bliss.

A very good, and well taken, point!

Yes, way to early to count on any person to be out front….it just depends on who is doing the polling and who they are calling. He gets the job done as a Governor, but doubt he will have that charisma that seems to be needed now for the Presidency! Don’t they need to be a rockstar? Of course, look what that has gotten us! Now we have a wimp that is afraid of his own shadow and is afraid to offend Muslims, that doesn’t help the US! We need a strong leader and he is sure lacking in the category…who then for the coming election? Ted Cruz? He is a strong leader and smart, but the RINO’s will take him down….Jeb Bush? I am sure he is the one the RINO’s want in office, but it will be pro-amnesty all the way with him. I would not see any difference to speak of between what we have now and what he would “rule” as. There are lesser people that would be strong runners, but they will never be allowed to be brought to the forefront if the media has anything to say about it. RINO’s and the media seem to go hand in had in picking who will be the Republican candidate, don’t they?

The rock star thing has not worked out so well, maybe it is time for someone who is more low key. Jeb Bush is the chosen one and as such he will probably win the nomination but he will lose and even if it is not fair it will be his last name which does him in. That, and the conservatives will stay home again, when will the establishment learn?!

Sad, but I fear true.

I just cannot like Jeb Bush! I think people are tired of voting for someone “just” because they have the R behind their name and we are told that is who we get. I am inclined to think too, that they will stay home again rather than vote for the chosen one from the establishment. Are we to believe that anything will be different than what we have being shoved down our throats now? I doubt that will happen that all of a sudden the US will be put back on the right track. I think, once again, we will see voters sitting this one out and the Democrats getting back in.

The frustrating part of the whole thing is the leadership continually misreads the elections. Every time they lose a Presidential election they do not think it is because the conservatives stayed home, they think it is because they have to move to the left. The more they do this the more the conservatives stay home and the more they lose, and the cycle repeats. If they have not learned by now I don’t think they ever will.
