Senator Bob Menendez might cast the deciding vote on Loretta Lynch’s confirmation

March 24, 2015

I found this story to be interesting so I thought I would write a little about it: With the confirmation vote for Barack Obama’s nominee to replace Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, looking as if it could be a nail-biter it is quite possible the deciding vote could come from Democratic Senator Bob Menendez. Of course Senator Menendez is facing criminal corruption charges which could be handed down in the near future from the Department of Injustice.

  Here is more:

The deciding vote on whether the Senate will confirm the nation’s top law enforcement official could come down to New Jersey’s Bob Menendez, and it could happen while he is under indictment by the Justice Department for alleged corruption.

An ethics expert said it would not be a conflict for Menendez to vote on Loretta Lynch’s nomination to be attorney general.

If Menendez becomes the deciding vote, that could also provide further political fodder to critics whose main complaint is not about Lynch’s qualifications but about what they say are illegal executive orders on immigration issued by President Obama.

If this is what ends up happening it would seem to me that the new Attorney General would have to recuse herself from the Menendez case:

But a narrow confirmation that relies on his vote is a real possibility and could require Lynch to recuse herself from dealing with the case against Menendez.

It is hard to imagine a scenario in which Loretta Lynch could possibly involve herself in this case if Bob Menendez’s vote pushes her over the top but honestly with Barack Obama emboldened and pushing the envelope, and with the Republicans seemingly unwilling to take the necessary steps to stop him, I would not be surprised if she claimed there was no conflict of interest. This is going to be interesting to watch play out to say the least.

Oh, for crying out loud. A Senator about to be arrested can still vote on the nomination of the person who would oversee his prosecution. Unbelievable.

Ol’ Bob Menendez, the overlord of the Hudson County democrat political machine, a machine kept well oiled by the Feds freebies since the early 60’s keeping the Latinos on the plantation and him in office in perpetuity may now be in position to stop Obama’s gal pal who is pro illegals and who, if she does become the new attorney general, will make us long for the good old days of the black Marxist Eric Holder. I smell a political prosecution of a certain senator from New Jersey being dropped.

I was kinda leaning toward the ‘political persecution’ as well but if we all start longing for the days of ‘Marxist Eric Holder’ then we are all probably in deeeep chit for sure because yes, it can get worse though it seems unbelievable to get worse than Holder…

I find her last name – Lynch – significant. That’s what they use to do with criminals back in the old days.
