Why is Harry Reid really retiring?
In my post about Harry Reid’s announcement that he was going to retire and would not be running for reelection in 2016 I speculated that this might be due to the recent Department of Homeland Security Inspector General report which was released two days before the Senator from Nevada announced his decision.
The report found that Harry Reid used his political position and power to pressure the Department of Homeland Security into expediting visas which freed up $115 to a client of his son Rory. I found the timing to be a remarkable coincidence!
Now Breitbart has taken the speculation even further. Here is more:
“I think it is unfair for me to be soaking up all the money to be re-elected with what we are doing in Maryland, in Pennsylvania, in Missouri, in Florida,” Reid told the Times.
Reid said neither his recent eye injury nor concern over his chances of winning played a factor in his decision.
But the real reason Reid is retiring may have nothing to do with any of these excuses and everything to do with his concerns that a possible Republican Presidential victory in 2016 would lead to the appointment of a Republican Attorney General in January 2017.
A Republican Attorney General would be almost certain to initiate a criminal investigation into Reid’s abuse of his political power in a brazen intervention in the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) issuance of EB-5 visas to investors in a Las Vegas casino and hotel that was represented by his son, Rory Reid, as was highlighted in a report released by the Inspector General of DHS last week.
“I think Harry Reid’s getting out of town ahead of the posse,” former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova tells Breitbart News.
According to the Breitbart article a group has already asked for an investigation into Harry Reid’s machinations, but admitted that it would probably go nowhere with the Democrats in charge of the Department of Injustice:
On Thursday, the non-profit group Cause of Action called on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to launch a criminal investigation of Reid. Citing the specific federal statutes that were violated, the group said Reid “participat[ed] in unlawful political activity, possible coercion and fraud related to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.”
The DOJ under President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder is so highly politicized it would never launch a criminal investigation into the many scandals in which Harry Reid is at the center.
Some might point to the plight of Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, and his impending indictment at the hands of the Department of Injustice, as proof the department is not politicized but I would remind my readers that Harry Reid shares a more friendly relationship with the President than does the aforementioned Senator from New Jersey.
While Barack Obama might be using the Department of Homeland Security to either exact revenge on, or to intimidate, Bob Menendez I am sure the President will be more than willing to look the other way in the case of Harry Reid.
Again, the timing is just too coincidental; it sure looks to me as if Harry Reid sees the writing on the wall and does not want to take any chances, therefore he is getting out while the getting is good…
Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium

The Inspector General’s report that is at the base of this, has to be taken with a grain of salt. The report say’s it was probably and “ethical” failure, but not “criminal.” However, when we learn that the last IG at DHS, Charles Edwards, was removed for sugar coating reports to bama’s White House, there may be more to the story.

I think there is more to it than this, these stories have been floating around about Reid for quite some time. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it someday.

If this article is true http://madworldnews.com/harry-reid-accident/: that he got the snot beat out of him and he better ‘comply’ to a certain group or he’s dead, that might be more of the truth. When we look at his face it’s obvious that it wasn’t a ‘exercise accident’! It was an ‘exercise’ in mafia policy.
Got this site reference from the one ‘futuret’ left under your Gowdy posting – Mad World News – hadn’t seen that one before.

I have heard rumors that somebody beat him up in order to let him know who is boss and how he should be voting as well!

Notice he’s had two black eyes recently the right, some time ago and now the left. How can he ‘see’ what they’re saying if they keep punching him in his eyes! 😲

He’s tough to look at Steve – like the rest of them. Gives you a creepy feeling – dirty.

Yes, he is creepy and he sounds creepy but maybe not as creepy as Joe (I cannot keep my hands to myself) Biden.

Well, when you stand back and look at the big picture, it seems that was alot of damage for what he “said” happened. I imagine he is getting out while the getting is good. One thing he is NOT and that is stupid, I guess he has figured out this is the end of the line of a good thing for him. He has made his millions off the backs of “us unwashed masses”, right?

Somebody told me that when the mafia wants to send a message they go for the face and the ribs because both injuries are very painful, I don’t know if this is true but it is certainly interesting. One thing is for sure in my opinion and that is that Reid did not hurt himself exercising.

That is pretty excessive and I have not seen anything that bad in all my years as an EMT for what he said happened. I really think there was more to it and the gears were set in place for him to start transitioning out of the Senate, but at his own speed and on his own terms. The man has been bad news for America, that is for certain. He held so much up on the Senate floor from going thru and somehow blamed the Republicans, it takes talent to get away with that. Maybe now, things might change, but with Schumer, who knows, then there is Durbin, so the evil doers are still there, just maybe at a lesser degree. Guess we will see when the time comes, we have so few STRONG Senators that it doesn’t take much for the Democrats to still have control of the Senate, you know?
