The Department of Justice will not seek contempt charges against Lois Lerner

April 1, 2015

 This will probably not come as a surprise to anyone but the Department of Injustice has informed John Boehner that the agency will not seek contempt charges against Lois Lerner.

  Here is more:

The Justice Department will not seek criminal contempt charges against former IRS official Lois Lerner, the central figure in a scandal that erupted over whether the tax agency improperly targeted conservative political groups.

Ronald Machen, the former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, told House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) in a seven-page letter this week that he would not bring a criminal case to a grand jury over Lerner’s refusal to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in March 2014. The House approved a criminal contempt resolution against Lerner in May 2014, and Machen’s office has been reviewing the issue since then.

  And why would they, after all, wait for it…there is not even a smidgen of corruption here.

  The good news is the FBI is still investigating her and the IRS but I think we all know what that investigation will yield because the end justifies the means…

    WHAT DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, MORE ON WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MY STATE OF GEORGIA:

    Sine Die is this Thursday, April 2nd, and I need you to take immediate action on two pieces of legislation.

    S.B. 94, which would greatly proliferate the number of search warrants issued and make them secret (among other things), passed both the Georgia House and Senate but in different versions.

    It’s CRITICAL you contact your state representative and state senator right away and insist they vote “NO” on S.B. 94 or any other bill that legalizes “no-knock” raids in Georgia.

    Click here to find contact information for your state representative and state senator.

    Another police power-grab bill, H.B. 310, greatly expands the police bureaucracy in Georgia by creating 3 new state departments.

    These new bureaucracies would have tremendous new powers over our lives, with DCS having the power to write its own rules.

    H.B. 310 passed both houses of the General Assembly and is now heading to Governor Nathan Deal’s desk.

    It’s extremely urgent you contact Governor Nathan Deal at 404-656-1776 RIGHT AWAY and insist he veto H.B. 310.

    Your quick action a couple of weeks ago killed the “No-Knock” Raid Expansion Acts…for now.

    All three bills failed to advance past “Crossover Day,” so they should be dead until the next session of the Georgia General Assembly.

    But no bad idea is truly dead in the Georgia General Assembly until after “Sine Die,” the last day the legislature meets.

    You see, as Sine Die approaches, legislators get desperate to move their pet projects through the General Assembly.

    In their desperation, they make deals with other politicians in order to attach their bills to other legislation that is still “alive.”

    You can imagine the “horse trading” that goes on to make these deals happen!

    That’s exactly what happened with S.B. 94, which would now:

    *** Make search warrants secret, making them ripe for abuse;

    *** Greatly expand the power to request and grant search warrants;

    *** Allow warrants to be issued for crimes “about to be committed”;

    *** Allow anyone, including untrained civilians that are not sworn peace officers, to participate in the execution of search warrants; and

    *** Grant immunity from civil or criminal prosecution to anyone executing a warrant.

    After the original bill failed to make it past Crossover Day, it was attached to S.B. 94, which is still alive and well in the General Assembly.

    This new version of S.B. 94 has passed both the Georgia House and Senate but in different versions.

    That means a special committee will be formed to hammer out the differences and send the resulting compromise back to both chambers for another vote.

    Meanwhile, H.B. 310 passed both houses of the General Assembly and is on its way to the governor.

    H.B. 310 creates the Board of Community Supervision, the Department of Community Supervision (DCS), and the Governor’s Office of Transition, Support, and Reentry.

    These new bureaucracies would have tremendous new powers over our lives, with DCS having the power to write its own rules.

    So much for separation of powers in our Republic!

    It’s extremely important you contact your state representative and state senator right away and insist they vote “NO” on S.B. 94 or any other bill that legalizes “no-knock” raids in Georgia.

    Click here to find contact information for your state representative and state senator.

    Then, contact Governor Nathan Deal at 404-656-1776 RIGHT AWAY and insist he veto H.B. 310.

    They say Sine Die is the most dangerous day in Georgia. Now we know why!

    Please take action right away.

    First, I am not the least bit surprised that Lois Lerner will never see the inside of a jail cell, but she should. She has to be protected, because once she realizes that she is dispensable, she will start singing and that cannot be allowed to happen, so they will continue to protect her.

    As far as the ” no knock” raids, that does not surprise me, either. Once they get in, they will “find” something to bust you for. Our rights are dwindling very fast, people need to pay attention, but as usual, it will be way to late to do anything about this. You can post and post with phone numbers to call, but you cannot make anyone dial that phone. Most people just do not want to get involved, isn’t that what you have found out? There are some that are afraid to get involved. They do not want to buck the system. What they do not realize is that they are enabling that same system to do that and more to them when they will not stand up to them. We have become a generation of wimps that are afraid to offend someone or to stand up for what is right, why?

    She’s no Hillary but still she deserves to skate. I wonder if she’s also baking cookies now with her free time?
