Video: Rand Paul’s full speech in front of the New Hampshire Republican Leadership Summit
Rand Paul was in my state of New Hampshire today and he gave a speech at the New Hampshire Republican Leadership Summit. As regular readers of America’s Watchtower have probably figured out by my recent posts I am a supporter of the Republican Senator from Kentucky although I have not yet committed to a candidate.
Rand Paul is an enigma in the Republican Republican party because he does not always toe the party line. Because of this the elitist Republican establishment have attacked him, especially after he announced his bid for the Presidency, by making the claim he is to the left of Barack Obama on national security issues.
I would turn the tables on the establishment Republicans by asking them why they are so closely aligned with the President. The truth is, in my opinion, that the establishment Republicans are not any better than the Democrats who they pretend to oppose for they are also statists. They only differ on who should be in control of big government, they do not oppose big government.
On this point Rand Paul differentiated himself from the Republican establishment in his speech today by claiming he supports defending the entire Bill of Rights. What you say? The Republicans support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, don’t they? Not True! The Republicans only support the Bill of Rights, as Rand Paul makes abundantly clear, when it suits their purposes and he drove that point home today. The Republican establishment and the Democrats are using the Hegelian Dialectic to divide the American people but they are on the same side.
When a candidate can stand up and give a speech which will make waves on both sides of the aisle you have to believe he is on to something…or at least that is what I believe.
Here is Rand Paul’s full speech:
Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium

Aw, man, thirty-four minutes….isn’t there a transcript somewhere?? I’ll never be able to pay attention that long… 😦

Well, the speech itself is only 25 minutes so I think you can make it. 🙂
I don’t know if there is a transcript but there was a funny moment I will share when he quipped that Hillary would need two planes on the campaign trail, one for her and the other for her baggage.
