Republican establishment reinstates conservative punished for voting against Obamatrade
How about a little feel good story today after the Supreme Court’s Obamacare Federal Exchange decision?
Earlier this week selective Constitutionalist establishment Republican Jason Chaffetz removed Mark Meadows from his subcommittee chair for having the unmitigated audacity to vote his conscience (and the will of his constituents) on Obamatrade rather than blindly toe the establishment Republican agenda.
After facing an onslaught from the people as well as from House conservatives who began to plan retribution against the establishment Jason Chaffetz announced today that he is reinstating Mark Meadows. Here is more:
Facing enormous blowback, Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on Thursday reversed course and said he was reinstating Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) as a subcommittee chairman.
Chaffetz stripped Meadows of his subcommittee gavel last week after the congressman joined nearly three dozen other conservatives in voting against leadership on a procedural motion that nearly scuttled a major trade package.
“Having spoken with Mark Meadows several times during the past week, I think we both better understand each other. I respect Mark and his approach. The discussions and candor have been healthy and productive,” Chaffetz said in a statement.
“Ultimately, I believe we both want to do what is best for the country. Obviously I believe in Mark Meadows or I would not have appointed him to this position in the first place. It is in the best interest of the Committee to move forward together.”
Jason Chaffetz claims he came to this decision after speaking to Mark Meadows but I think we all know he was feeling the pressure from people who are sick and tired of listening to selective Constitutionalists say one thing during an election while doing another after they are reelected.

It is hard to know where to even begin. Maybe good old Trump is the last train out. Who would have thunk it. I shudder at the idea. The GOP is toast. Period.+

Bunker and Steve,I have the feeling that he was given the go ahead to reinstate Meadows back into the position..I do not think us voicing our opinions had anything to do with it. I think they wanted to see what the outcry would be and to what degree, so maybe it was another trial run for them. I used to have a pretty good opinion of Chaffetz, but now I have to question his motives…Trump should be entertaining and guess he is as good as any of the rest, maybe he will surprise us…I need something to take my mind off all this corruption.

I think you have something there Lou! They are always testing the waters to see just how far things can be pushed. They are counting on folks not paying attention until it is too late, and sadly it happens far too often. And yes, Trump will be quite entertaining to watch but I also think his bluntness will keep them a bit on their toes, at least I am hoping it. I think he will bring some Hard Choices questions (sorry, souldn’t help it! LOLOL). I sure hope anyway. Just wish that if he weren’t going to take it seriously that he wouldnt get in it at all…maybe he will surprise us. 🙂

You never know Lorra, stranger things have happened! I am to the point that there are few in Congress that I trust and I know most here are of that same view. This crap should have been nipped in the butt years ago, but it was not since it would be “racist” to go against Obama…well isn’t he only 1/2 black, so technically we would only be 1/2 racist to say something. Sorry, that was not called for. People are just afraid to say or do anything anymore. I guess most of what I say or do offends someone, somewhere, oh well. I am offended by alot of the crap that this Administration has shoved thru. As for the gay rights stuff, that should be up to the states, not the government. That the states allow it, will be our downfall. The County Sheriffs are also under attack and I think there are those that want to get rid of them….we need them. I am SOOOO offended that groups feel they can demand certain icons be removed, history be rewritten, etc., but then produce something else that WE should have to look at and deal with….THAT is ok. Double standard, is what it is…plus it is the Do as I say, not as I DO mentality out of this Administration that is pissing me off. Each day brings more chaos that should NEVER be allowed to happen. We thought the Supremes were “neutral” and went by the Constitution, well, that cover is blown, isn’t it? We are picking up speed, daily on such stupid crap that is being demanded and people give in, so as to be politically and racially correct….bull! STOP IT!

Bring Jarrett to mind how she threatened – and you got to know she makes good when she threatens, follows thru – to punish those who don’t toe the line. What’s with this ‘punishing’ complex? I do remember that! That is what happens on both sides of the aisle if you do not toe the establishment line. They are all on the same side and those who do not go along eventually are taken care of.

Steve, an example of what those who watch the news (even Fox) see as the highlight news of the day vs those who comb the blogs and internet news. She wanted to know what I thought of the 2 guys that broke out of the NY prison. That is what the propaganda news is keeping people focused on. What does it matter if two guys escape from prison when we ones that are worse being let out by the commie prez or that the 3 branches of the American Gov. have been taken over by the usurpers! Shows what kind of Tree they’re attached to!

That is right, Zip, there are so many illegals that are being let out on the streets that are probably far more dangerous….apparently we are just not able to track them down and deport them….then when get them back for more illegal crap, we turn them loose again….I cannot imagine what the families of their victims think….if it were me, I think we would have to hunt them down ourselves…the government and JEH are not interested….it is almost like they WANT them to do their dirty work.
We, the ones on the internet and blogs know far more about what is going on than ones that watch that idiot tube….that is why we are more dangerous, I guess. Knowledge is power,,,,remember that!

The “news” is a product designed to shape the minds of the masses. They fill the people full of propaganda and keep them distracted from the real news. Fox may be “conservative” but they are also engaged in the divide and conquer strategy.

I know people that think just because they watch the nightly news, they know everything there is to know about what is going on in the news, locally and world wide….I have given up on telling them, there is SO much more out there. When you do that, you sound like one of those conspiracy nuts that this Administration has made us all out to be….you know if you are not part of the sheeple, you are part of the problem that needs to be disposed of….did you know that is what we are?
