Last week was a slow one with only 8 stories including the Independence Day post but did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!
A few years ago the lead singer of the band Stain’d, Aaron Lewis, released a solo CD and it included the song entitled “Country Boy.” Here is an acoustic version of the song; I think you guys are going to like this and it fits in with the holiday weekend. Enjoy:

I start by a movie, that can be take for source of different political statements..
The one I like most, is that, that your find yourself on one side or the other of the fence IS Courage, Determination, Tenacity
Then I like to Thank You, was fun and interesting to check out , music of our past, music we hear still today. The One That we all agree on is Johnny Cash, follow shortly by Leonard Cohen.
And Here A Cure by The Clan of Xymox, I’m checking on that Band and its not so bad, not bad at all.

Thanks, SDL, had a great visit with my brother and his wife on the 4th. I did NOT wear red white and blue, but then again, seldom am I conventional about anything…will wear a red shirt today, go figure. I did as planned last night and put the top down on the Miata and saw some good fireworks on my 2 hour drive home, it was a nice night out and no clouds, so saw alot.
I have not seen, this morning, that we had any terror attacks, but imagine there were alot of people fearful to go to any big get togethers yesterday…was that the plan? Hmmmm!

Thanks for sharing SDL, you cannot ever go wrong with Johnny Cash! I remember when “Pretty Hate Machine” first came out and NIN was playing a show at a club in Boston. My brother and I went to the club but it ended up being sold out before we got in, at that time nobody knew who NIN was. I finally did see them twice but I still wonder what it would have been like to see them in a small club before they blew up.

I see what you mean Steve, for NIN I knew Them through a friend who was an Unconditional Fan. Something I never become, but really appreciate a lot of their songs

Same here, I liked them but was never a huge fan. This is an interesting version of that song, somehow I had not heard it before.

Thanks Swiss! We’re all still here and weren’t hit by the cia iSiS nuke – so that “IS” a GOOD Thing! Glad all had a good one! Our electricity was out for most of the day (lightening storm). I’m grateful it was overcast and cool – instead of high 90s! and that if came back on! Glad for workers who work, esp. on the holidays!
Some interesting selections! The Cash one … some strange imagery to go w/ the tune. Did you know that his wife June wrote ‘Ring of Fire’ (with Merle Kilgore), when in her relationship w/ Cash – falling in love w/ him? Her sister Anita sang it first as “(Love’s) Ring of Fire”.
Inspiring theme music from the Fourth. Moral and spiritual courage, something that speaks to the inner fibers of soul and grit. The punk group I see had Illuminati b/w square flooring for one of their scenes 3:44 – and bird cages (http://vigilantcitizen.com/latestnews/pictures-rothschild-family/) – talented group.

Yes Zip, I can imagine people drinking a bit too much hurting themselves or others, that Hospital must have been more buzy than usual, same for Police or Firemen, it’s good that some work during those feast.
No I didn’t know about Cash, his life and so on…but without knowing, You can feel like someone lost and keep going, to realize at the end, that he was all the time in what he was looking for… something like that ….

Yes, I agree Swiss. A lament. That things inside – his deep soul desires – didn’t seem to ‘work’ out right in this kooky world. AND, he’s right. When he came to faith and belief in Christ – as much as he did – Scripture began to make more sense. Powers of evil that fight against our good, luring us away from God’s Truth – ‘For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.’ (1 John 2:16) But, like you state he kept ‘walking the line.’

Hay Swiss, I just heard that your friends to the south said screw you to the hand that feeds them. How did little Switzerland have the good sense to keep the world out of their business? Good for them. So is the Greek bailout something people are talking about there? Or is it just another chapter in an endless saga? You have to tip your hat to any animal that will turn on its’ provider, but then you have to put that animal down. Personally, I would love to see the pompous socialist Euro government crash and burn as Nigel Farage has hoped and predicted. But like Oblabla caved to Iran, I am sure the Euro folks will cave to Greece.

I like Nigel Farage, and I agree with most of what he is saying during the years. But Who is EU?
It’s like a Mafia Boss who want a part of every thing going under it’s wings. That why they want more and more Countries.
Also there is a Fee every years to pay to EU, and it goes by the number of its population. So even if it is cleary a bad idea with the policy on Immigration, the “Mafia” Bosses want their money.
Greece was never a rich Country but it did well before the EU. The EU came and dry up the Greeks. It is what is going with Ukraine, and why Ukraine should shut the door to those Mafia EU bosses that expect only one thing is to squash them in the palm of their hands, and drain all resources.
About Switzerland, we did have to vote three times, that they get it that people did say NO, and it is not the end of it. They press bank for transparency which goes against our bank secrecy traditions, and make other pression…ah you are not in the EU we gonna make you pay. Cleary EU stand more as an Enemy then a friend. They can’t make a fourth now because almost 100% will say no to the adhesion of Switzerland to the EU.

Thanks SDL, it is good to get an European view point. I am glad Switzerland has been able to stand strong against the EU Mob. We certainly have the government Mob here as well, where they try to dry up the taxpayer in order to give money to themselves and their friends. They tell us that if we give them more money, they will give some of it back. And our welfare system is the same. The taxpayer asks that welfare recipients don’t cash their checks at casino’s and liquor stores, but they tell the taxpayer “screw you”.

During college, I spent a year in Europe. When I got home I liked to tell people that they had the 4th of July in France. I was told no, it is only in the US, France has Bastille Day, but not the 4th. Again I said they did have the 4th of July, and the 5th, and the 6th and on and on.
I am pretty sure that’s where we are heading. The 4th is just another vacation day, and another day to shop. After all, what good could come from something old white male slave owners thought up?
Rome didn’t go away, it is still there, filled with people. But the Roman empire is long gone, destroyed by envious invaders from the outside, and rot and corruption from the inside. The Vandals and Goths from the outside and free bread and circuses on the inside turned an empire of roads, commerce, sanitation, and relative safety into the dark ages of famine, pestilence, and fear.
So while we have it, and while it means something. celebrate the 4th of July for what it means to America.

I think we are on borrowed time, Bruce. You are right, celebrate while we can…there are those in power that want to do damage to us, as a nation.

Sadly I think you are right Bruce; the 4th has no meaning to many people other than it is a day off and I find that to be quite sad because the vast majority of the people seem to have no idea what it took to create this nation.
