Hillary Clinton sent classified emails to Sidney Blumenthal
The right-wing blogosphere is ablaze with the news today that the State Department’s recent release of 7,000 pages of Hillary Clinton’s emails reveal that the former Secretary of State sent classified information to Sidney Blumenthal, so I am probably not going to write anything here that most of you have not read elsewhere but I would be remiss not to mention it.
If you follow this link you will be able to view a heavily redacted email correspondence between Hillary Clinton and Sidney Blumenthal in which “Merkel” and “Blair” are mentioned. This is a major problem whether Hillary Clinton wants to admit it or not.
The bulk of Hillary Clinton’s message to Blumenthal was redacted, under codes 1.4(D) and 1.4(B) because classification authorities determined it contained classified information “which reasonably could be expected to cause damage to the national security[.]”
The problem is that Sidney Blumenthal was not authorized to receive classified information. Of course Hillary Clinton will claim these emails were not marked classified at the time but that argument no longer holds water because of the people discussed in the emails.
See, if an email has information in it about foreign governments or foreign leaders it is deemed to be classified–born classified–even if it is not marked as such at the time of its generation. This means that under Federal regulations Hillary Clinton shared information with a man who was not authorized to see it.
But the problem could be even worse for the former Secretary of State because not only was Mr. Blumenthal not authorized to receive classified information but he was forbidden by Barack Obama from becoming a member of her State Department staff. She wanted Sidney Blumenthal on her staff but Barack Obama forbade it and yet she still secretly was in correspondence with him on matters in which national security could be at risk.
With rumors abounding that either Barack Obama or Valarie Jarrett is behind the email scandal leaks it does not bode well for Hillary Clinton who otherwise might be able to find solace in a Justice Department which would normally be inclined to look the other way.

Thanks for sharing Lou. This could be the big one we have been waiting for and if Obama is really behind all of the leaks then she could be in real trouble. It is probably just a pipe dream but I am still holding out hope.

I think we are getting very close to indictment time as well, the more we learn the more it seems likely somebody has to be charged!

There has been an over abundance of illegal doings going on in the Clinton camp! Apparently she still feels she is above the law and she might well be, who knows! Then we have the IRAN nuke deal going to be pushed thru, so it will over shadow what she is doing. The way I see it, ALL of the crap going on in this Administration should have equal levels of reporting, but we should not really expect it, I guess. The media will try and hide the worst of it, as they always do. The Republicans will say they have done all they can do to fight whatever it is that is in the fore front and as usual the American people will get screwed. Just another day in this crazy world of Obama.

I think we have to be close to seeing indictments handed down, of course it will most likely be lower level people who take the fall. I wonder what they will be paid for their sacrifice…
I am not going to be distracted by this Iran deal because we knew it would pass, I will be watching what they are trying to hide.
You are right about the Republicans; they will say they tried and they will do it for political reasons because they think it will help them get elected and that is all they care about.
