Sunday, September 20th open thread: ‘Wise up! Sucker’

September 20, 2015

open-thread Here is the open thread for Sunday, September 20th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week we covered 7 stories despite my trip to Illinois, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!

I have decided to dig deep into my CD collection again this week for the musical selection so here is Pop Will Eat Itself performing “Wise Up! Sucker” live in 1995. The audio isn’t great but it is what it is, enjoy:

        Hello Lou,
Yesterday I couldn’t make work my computer and youtube, a grey screen with a link who tell me That there are too many people watching the same video, I could also refresh the page, restart my computer, all done and same thing again, may be I will have to stick with some Punk Band of New Zeeland…
Today everything seems to be ok again..
For my health well, with my 60% something left of lungs, I claim stairs like I was in the Everest. I will go to Hospital in October.. Thank You Dear Lou for asking, Hope you’re well too

Swiss you’re not going to believe this I was going to post Sailing last week! and here you go and post that and another C. Cross song! How’d that happen – you of all people! who find songs so off the Pink Floyd obscure Wall that we’d never come across! and THIS happens! Ha! I like the FlashDance song too. Michael Sembello, the music artist, has done some pretty strange (illuminati style) music vids. Flashdance one of his biggest hits. Also did ‘Gravity’ in the ‘Cocoon’ movie. ‘By age 17 he was working professionally with Stevie Wonder on electric and acoustic guitar as a studio player on Wonder’s Fulfillingness’ First Finale…The list of pop music personalities he worked with, or wrote for, includes Wonder (from 1974 to 1979), The Temptations, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, George Benson, Barbra Streisand, Stanley Clarke, David Sanborn, Donna Summer, Miguel Mateos and New Edition among many others.’

Thanks Zip as usual, I try to make sandwiches, sometimes the middle video is a parody, something to laugh, or the main song, I have many song on the sleeve, rest to match and if possible on the line made by Steve (not that easy, often fail). I appreciate your friendship here at The Watchtower, sometimes I did ask my self How did I get Here… 😉

Your statement of ‘how you got here’ in a way goes w/ that Talking Heads song. Actually I think the answer contains more than our human brains or senses can know, in relationship to the grand scheme of things! Making choices is one thing but sometimes we find ourselves somewhere and wonder that very thing! Like our DNA we found ourselves with it – not of our doing! Friendship and ‘communication’ can be wonderful gifts! Thanks for your kindness Swiss! (btw this vid’s large screen doesn’t work here in the US but if people click on the bottom Utube icon it’ll bring them to the source page that works!) Good week to you!

A great song SDL and I often ask myself how I got here as well, you are not alone! I am glad I got here because I have met many good people here who I consider to be friends.

I remember all these songs well! It is funny because Sailing is a song about escaping reality in something you love yet I have always thought this song sounded very sad at the same time. I don’t know but I think it is because of the way he sang it.

No offense guys but as a music afficianado with an eclectic taste in music I do not care for nor will I listen to the music of Chris Cross. It’s not cacaphonius but rather it is boring. For me his music falls right behind the two worst pop songs of all time Muskrat Love and Midnight At The Oasis. Just one man’s opinion.

Steve your last posting of Bari’s ‘so-called faith’ got me to look into a few things – my brother made a statement about Bari coming out of nowhere. And with that and his track record we get a clearer pic of ‘who made him.’ He didn’t ‘build’ himself.
Found this: Re: Chicago Law. A.k.a. “Obama applied for a position as an adjunct and wasn’t even considered. A few weeks later the law school got a phone call from the Board of Trustees telling them to find him an office, put him on the payroll, and give him a class to teach. The Board told him he didn’t have to be a member of the faculty, but they needed to give him a temporary position. He was never a professor and was hardly an adjunct.
The other professors hated him because he was lazy, unqualified, never attended any of the faculty meetings, and it was clear that the position was nothing more than a political stepping stool. According to my professor friend, he had the lowest intellectual capacity in the building. He also doubted whether he was legitimately an editor on the Harvard Law Review, because if he was, he would be the first and only editor of an Ivy League law review to never be published while in school (publication is or was a requirement).”
“One cannot deny and must also accept and acknowledge that Obama was a man who had only run the Harvard Law Review for a short time, was an Illinois state senator with no considerable accomplishments, and was only a two year US senator with no considerable accomplishment. He was totally unqualified to tackle the very serious challenges our country faced with regards to the economy, or anything else for that matter.” http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2012/09/04/obama-unqualified-then-disqualified-now/
Columbia Professor Never Heard of Obama “I taught at Columbia for 46 years. I taught every significant American politician that ever studied at Columbia … Between American History and Diplomatic History, one way or another, they all had to come through my classes. Not Obama. I never had a student with that name in any of my classes. I never met him, never saw him, never heard of him.”

Note: Consider the ‘church’ he attended ‘kill the white-ies’ Jeremiah Wright – now that’s a different faith from: ‘beloved love one another’ isn’t it! He says Jesus was a poor black man.

Twisting words of truth for personal gain. I don’t think Bari’s a full muslim either – they’re anti-homosexual, anti-drinking, smoking (drugs), etc.

“3 Openly Gay Men at Wright’s Church KILLED the Very Month Obama’s Ascent to the Nomination Began?” The BIG power machine behind this closet commie stooge (shill).

Zip, being from Illinois and knowing how Senator “Present” voted most the time, here is a summary of what this worthless piece of crap has done in the past. I am sure most of us know his background, but being FROM Illinois he was a nobody when he was voted into the State Senate and he is a nobody now in OUR HOUSE! This is Affirmative Action all the way for both he AND his wife, neither would have been able to get where they are on their own. This is a long read, but you can scroll thru and pic out what you have not heard about.

Thanks Lou, I’ll look thru it.
Yes, being your home state that can be even more irritating!
Joan Rivers keeps coming to mind with these truths being submitted. 2 months after her comment about ‘homo Bari and Tranny Michael’ she taken out. Like those 3 guys from Wright’s gathering that had ‘relationships’ linked to Bari’s were killed. So, his voting record just adds to pot. (no pun intended).

I guess some people are just testy and do not like being talked about, but that is over the top “pay back”, isn’t it? Yes, Zip, it is irritating because people say we got what we deserved…but the majority of Illinois is NOT liberal, they just have alot of questionable votes and somehow find enough to keep the Democratic machine running. Once you get south of Chicago, you have Conservative other than a couple counties way down south that are Democratic strong holds.

Quite a bit there Zip, thanks for sharing! Obama did not come out of nowhere, he was groomed for this all of his life. Alinsky’s postman holds the key. He claimed Alinsky once boasted about a foreign exchange student he was sponsoring.

Yes, he was groomed, as you say. What I meant is he didn’t come in & up thru the normal channels – although those ‘enamored’ by him (groupies) think he fulfilled all the requirements & qualifying steps – which he didn’t. He was ‘ushered’ in by the world rulering shuffling committee!

I should have known you already knew about that! In that video the narrator actually mentioned a book called “None Dare Call it Conspiracy” by Gary Allen, I have that book on my reading list to purchase but have not ordered it yet.

After listening the mailman video, I have to say it is all CONSPIRACY, right? How many of those CONSPIRACY theories does it take to finally make people realize that something is WRONG with Obama? At what point does a person have to say, you know there MIGHT be something to what people are reporting. But, most Americans don’t pay attention and really don’t want to be bothered with using their minds and maybe seeing that there has been massive fraud against the United States.

This was a CD I was into for a little while many years ago, never bought anything else by PWEI but I wanted to post something different and this is what I came up with!
Yes, I made it home safe and sound, thanks for asking. We were actually outside of Chicago and flew into Midway or Midland, something like that, so we never even really saw the big city.

Midway! The other is O’Hare, it is the biggest. You didn’t miss anything, actually. I know you are glad to be home, you do not seem to be a “traveler”, I am not either, I am more of a home body, I guess.

Yeah, I have been told that I was much better off not having gone through O’Hare. The worst part of the flight was a three hour layover in Detroit both ways but other than that it was pretty smooth.
This one wasn’t too bad having only been gone a few days but it is always good to be home.

Believing a Liar is a easy thing to do – esp. when what they say tickles the ears (entices) and feeds the emotional cravings (ego/pride). Politics and Religion both know how to work it – The Chistdian-dumb Prosperity/name it and claim it = Religion. Pomp and big hurray = Politics! Raz-MA-Taz them with fake hope and vain words. I consider Hilly a utter BORE.
