Emails contradict Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi testimony

November 3, 2015

Not that it makes much of a difference at this point but a review of Hillary Clinton’s sworn Benghazi testimony shows that emails she received from Sidney Blumenthal contradict her assertion that he was not an adviser “at all” on Libya.

  Here is more:

Newly released emails conflict with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 11-hour testimony before the Benghazi Select Committee, according to a review of the transcripts and public records.

One of the conflicts involves the role played by Clinton confidant Sidney Blumenthal.

Regarding the dozens of emails from him, which in many cases were forwarded to her State Department team, Clinton testified: “He’s a friend of mine. He sent me information he thought might be of interest. Some of it was, some of it wasn’t, some of it I forwarded to be followed up on. He had no official position in the government. And he was not at all my adviser on Libya.”

But a newly released email from February 2011 shows Blumenthal advocated for a no-fly zone over Libya, writing, “U.S. might consider advancing tomorrow. Libyan helicopters and planes are raining terror on cities.” The email was forwarded by Clinton to her deputy chief of staff Jake Sullivan with the question, “What do you think of this idea?”

And here is more:

In another email from March 5, 2012, Clinton appears to use Blumenthal as what is known in intelligence circles as a “cut out,” a type of intermediary to gather information, allowing the policymaker plausible deniability. In this case, the emails focused on the increasingly chaotic and fragmenting political landscape in Libya after dictator Muammar Qaddafi was removed from power.

In the one-page document, Blumenthal writes that Jonathan Powell, a former senior British government adviser to Blair, is “trying to replicate what we did in Northern Ireland by setting up secret channels between insurgents and government, and then, where appropriate, developing these negotiations.” This type of backchannel discussion helped bring about the 1998 Good Friday peace agreement in Northern Ireland.

Clinton responded two hours later. “I’d like to see Powell when he’s in the building,” with her staff responding, “Will follow up.” In both instances, Clinton’s actions further undercut sworn testimony to the Select Committee that Blumenthal was “not at all my adviser on Libya.

Hillary Clinton is actually telling the truth when she states that Sidney Blumenthal had no official role in the government because a thin-skinned, grudge-holding Barack Obama forbade him a position in the State Department after the 2008 election.

However the Former Secretary of State seemed to find her way around this little inconvenience because while he was unofficially advising her on Libya Sidney Blumenthal was paid $10,000 a month by the Clinton Foundation and the relationship gets cozier when you remember that she also promoted his business interest in Libya while she was Secretary of State. Move along, nothing to see here…

My blog was suspended 75 days, so I opened this new one. I will be visiting blogs rather than re-posting for a while. [*Brittius]

I posted on the new blog. I renewed the subscription with WordPress, and all of my traffic went to a previous edition of the blog that was hacked and destroyed. I could not get any help from Support, so I hopped onto PayPal and filed a dispute against WordPress, whom immediately slammed me with a 75 day suspesion for filing a dispute with PayPal, rather than helping me. Eventually, Support got in touch with me, but the 75 day suspension holds, and WordPress wants an additional $22.00, once things are ironed out, but the dashboard continues screwed up, until they locked me out.
Nothing mysterious or mystical. No boogieman hiding in the shadows. Actually, I wouldn’t mind it if there was a way to savage the destroyed blog and add it to my current one, but that will never happen because it would take Support to manually do the work. This new blog, I will be visiting other blogs and occasionally Pressing or linking, to keep the format tighter, as normally, I post around 200 to 300 articles daily but slowed down with the latest locked out blog. Now, I’m relaxing and letting the grandchildren run the computer while I do the crossword puzzle.

That is horrible Brit! I feel so bad for you because I know how much work goes into doing this. I had my blog mistakenly suspended once but I got it back in about five minutes after I contacted support. But I was panicked for those five minutes! I hope it all works out.

Lou, at one point something funky was going on on WordPress and people had to create an account just to comment on blogs and that might be why you created an account.

        NOT ME! Heck no! Hillary.
She is facing violations including the two serious charges of 18 USC 1924, and, 18 USC 793/F.
I doubt if any prosecution will be made, and that may stand to reverse convictions of people that were charged under those statutes.
Easy does it, Laura, have a cup of tea (I’ll have the Bourbon).

What secrets would I possibly know? The high-and-mighty in charge and doing terrible things that give our government a bad name, they’re the ones. Hillary has a security clearance but everyone in her office and everyone in her social circle, are all privy to confidential, classified information, and the FBI has been broadening the scope of the investigation as a Federal Criminal Case. Obama will have Lynch not prosecute because if indicted, that is the end of the Democrats in 2016, and Biden, was their Ace in the hole, but no more. Hillary is a member of the elite class that is above all laws. Plain and simple.
PS: If I upset you, Laura, I send you a hug, and my appologies.

Brit, Laura gets upset easily (think she just likes hugs). We must not upset her 🙂
Bushmills works well to calm the nerves, I have found in addition to just being a hell of a whiskey.
I have to wonder why Clinton still has a security clearance since she is no longer SofS…is that normal?
Sorry you had those problems Brit, guess the powers that be figured you needed some other pain in the butt stuff to deal with.

Excellent! Gaining strength. Walk around to get the blood circulating. I never liked hospitals because I enjoy fresh air, and around here, the windows are sealed, not to mention the heat in hospitals. Soon, you should be enjoying the outdoors and the Autumn crisp air filling your lungs, revitalizing and energizing. Keep that up, and you will be ready to co-star with “Ah-nold”.
