Happy New Year everybody

December 31, 2015

Tonight is New Year’s Eve and this is a time to both reflect on the last year and look forward to better things to come in the new year.

I can honestly say that I am looking forward to saying goodbye to 2015 and looking forward to starting 2016 anew, it was a tough year personally for me.

As you all know I suffered silently for many months after getting the news in May that I needed to have brain surgery before I finally sought the help that I needed. During my recovery my family lost the finest and most honest, caring, gentle, and giving person I have ever known when my step-father Bob passed away in November. I still miss him and will miss him forever.

However, I cannot say that 2015 was a total loss because in addition to having the best and most supportive family a man could ask for, there was one other bright spot, and it is a big one. My illness led me to find the God that I had been struggling to find for so many years. I struggled with my faith for so long and when I look back on 2015 I cannot help but think that God sent me a little wake up message.

Psalm 81:7 states: “in your distress you called and I rescued you, I answered you out of a thundercloud.” I cannot adequately describe to you the inner turmoil I was going through during the months between May and September until I accepted Jesus into my heart. He put my mind at ease and on the morning of my surgery, a day in which I thought I would be in full panic mode, I was calm and collected as I repeated to myself Mark 5:36: don’t be afraid; just believe.

I believed and I was given a second chance, when I think back on it I am awestruck at how powerful it is!  It is because of my new found faith that I have hope for the upcoming year: regardless of what happens politically this year (you didn’t think I would ignore politics, did you?) I now understand that all will be okay if I trust in the Lord because this life is but one step in the journey. I might get upset at what is happening in Washington but I will no longer let it get the best of me.

Well, enough about me, happy New Year everybody! Here is Dropkick Murphy’s singing “Auld Lang Syne.”

Could not have said it better myself! I will be glad to see 2015 behind us, as well.

With a little “Faith” and a little “Joe Cocker” we will get thru this next year:

Not sure but when I hit reply it starts to put all commas in the body here and will not stop. Wonder what that is all about? I even got out of the blog and back in…..strange.
However back to what I was going to say is Bagpipes and German Military Marches are 2 of my favorite types of music SDL. There is something about how a piper walks while playing that is so “strong” and well the Military Marches speak for themselves….Happy New Year to all of my new found friends here on Steves Blog. I know it doesn’t seem like it sometimes but we DO have alot to be thankful for…that other stuff WE CAN HANDLE!

What could go wrong? Exactly where have you been for the last 7 years? This last year will be packed full of illegal executive orders that the Senate/House will allow the “squatter” to push thru. We know that, even though we have control, they will just not be able to enforce anything OR stop anything. I don’t know, but I kind of thought once we had that control we were going to use it to our best advantage…apparently I was WRONG!
Oh no, are Laura and Peters emoticons rubbing off on the two of you, as well! Yes, it is only one emoticon, but you do know they tend to multiply, right?

Is there a virus that got posted or something? What I said was not enough to warrant that come back. I am still showing it printing all commas when I thy to post and then I have to delete them…it is like someone else is controlling it.

Brit, I think you misunderstood Lou’s comment. Lou is a regular contributor here and she is one of us. She was being sarcastic with her first couple of sentences and she was not attacking you.

Yes Lou, the Republicans have control but sadly they are not interested in stopping anything in my opinion but are more concerned with making it look like they are opposing what is going on so they can use it for political gain in the next election.

If I could say I dislike the Republicans more than the Democrats right about now, that would probably be right. We know they are capable of much, much more than siding with the left. They were ones we had high hopes for, that were going to change things around….for 7 years we have heard,,if only you would give us back the Senate/House, then we could change things….so we DID. What did it get us? It got us bi-partisan agreements, if you want to call them that! It got us giving the left any and all things they asked for….you wonder why Schumer, Reid and Pelosi and the rest of them are smirking????? We have given them the ball, they are calling the shots….I am so NOT in a good mood when I see what the right has become!

After reading what I wrote, I guess I can see how you might have misunderstood what I said….I meant it as sarcasm, nothing more, Brit. I apologize if you took it wrong, we are on the same side and it was never my intention to upset you or put you on the defensive…sometimes words in type just do not come across as intended….

Lou, at least the Democrats are not hiding who they are or what they believe while the Republicans pretend to be on our side when in reality they are not all that different from the Democrats. They just pretend to be the opposition so that they can whip up the base during the elections but once they have power nothing changes and I think that tells us all we need to know about them.

You know actions speak louder than words….when I have watched C-span and they have votes going on during the House or Senate and they are voting and stand around talking,,,they are patting each other on the backs and they are laughing, etc….you know they are probably saying what stupid, stupid people we are and they are doing what they want to do and not what we told them to do…they are entirely too chummy.

Without further ado. I’ve read this since the beginning about noon time and though and through. Calling a patriot a asshole without further explanation over many hours, even after apology of possible misunderstanding seems bizarre.

Best wishes for a great year ahead Steve. This is the year we pack up Obama, or so we hope, so that alone will put a spring in my step. Not sure if the alternative will be much better, but seeing the ole moving van move up Pennsylvania avenue will suffice..

Move them out, that is what we have to focus on…them AND the mother-in-law and the rest of the Administration.

Happy New Year to you as well Bunkerville. Getting rid of Obama already makes this a good year but if we are saddled with Hillary for the next four years it will all be for naught. However until that happens we must fight the good fight and hope his replacement will be better!

I ran across this…Sir Anthony Hopkins, the actor, WAS a musician years ago. He wrote this waltz back then and finally found someone he thought would put it together and do it justice…it is beautiful!
