Then vs now: Ann Coulter on Ted Cruz’s eligibility

January 6, 2016

Leading Conservatives, Presidential Candidates Speak At CPAC Gathering Please allow me to be perfectly blunt here: in my opinion Ann Coulter is a hypocrite and an opportunist who changes her political opinions for personal gain, attention, and promotion. Do you need some examples? Here goes: Back in 2012, while she was supporting Chris Christie for President, Ann Coulter declared that Mitt Romney must be stopped at all costs, but then when the governor of New Jersey endorsed Mitt Romney she became his biggest supporter. She even went so far as to claim Romney care was the conservative alternative to Obamacare even though this was the blueprint for Obamacare. That was strike one against her and at that point she lost whatever credibility she might have had with me, but I continue. (By the way, she now has turned against Chris Christie.)

Strike two: During the 2014 mid-term election Ann Coulter conveniently released a new book entitled Never Trust a Liberal Over 3–Especially a Republican. She appears on Howie Carr’s Boston talk show once a week and I personally heard her say on more than one occasion that it was time for the Tea Party to stop running primary opponents against RINO Republicans. She was trying to have it both ways…

And now for strike three: With Ted Cruz surging in the polls Donald Trump has become worried and during an interview recently he questioned whether or not Ted Cruz was eligible to run for President. Ann Coulter quickly backed him up by tweeting that the Senator from Texas is ineligible to run for President:

NYT: Cruz was born outside the U.S. to 1 American parent: “Under the Constitution this makes him a ‘natural born citizen.’” Absolutely false

That in and of itself is not a problem for I also have questions about Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for President however she was singing a different tune in 2013:

TED CRUZ CAN RUN FOR PRESIDENT! I worried on @seanhannity @ his Calgary birth, But his mother was a US citizen, so he was born a citizen.

So which is it Ann? There is one thing that I despise more than anything else and that is a hypocrite, especially when it come to politics, and it is clear to me that Ann Coulter cares more about personal gain than she does about doing what is best for the country and I think this is a perfect example. At this point I cannot believe she has any credibility left with the American people but apparently she does. All I want is consistency, is that too much to ask for…

Coulter is desperate for a Trump victory and fears Cruz is gaining momentum. Hence her repeated lies.

Well documented Steve. Hard to fight the facts of her twisted logic and changing positions. I am leaning more towards Cruz these days. McCain was born in Panama. I didn’t hear any of her complaints then.

Thank you, I am sure there are other examples but these are the ones I could think of off the top of my head. I do remember a few of Obama’s people throw out the question of McCain’s eligibility during the race but nothing came from it and it did not last long.

McCain was born in the Canal Zone, then US territory — so he was born on US soil. To US parents, I believe. And no, there wasn’t any question about his eligibility to run, and there shouldn’t have been.

I insist that if Barack Obama had not been black, and/or had not had a terribly foreign-sounding name, such nonsense would never have been generated surrounding the circumstances of his birth.

But now Mr. Cruz is in exactly the same position that the birthers claimed candidate Obama was in — born on foreign soil to one US parent — but suddenly all is sweetness and roses.

I agree that Ms. Coulter’s a hypocrite for upholding the double standard, but she’s got plenty of company.

Take good care and may God bless us all!

Bunker… McCains parents were Natural Born. Cruz’s weren’t. That is the distinction. Our founders were very clear on this. A person’s father must be a natural born citizen not only them. And I wrote extensively on the reasons for this because they believe that a person was never fully citizen of that particular country unless their father was. They would still hold allegiance to the original land or country. And bring with them foreign ideals incompatible. This is all easily research able if people would just read. In fact our founding fathers had good reasons for every single thing that they did and wrote and implemented. And they wrote about all of these things extensively and explain them including Second Amendment the presidency all of it.

the problem is there is a difference between what the founders believed, and what they placed into law. the only thing that matters here is what is in the law. and the law states that what side of a border you were born on is irrelevant. if you were a citizen at birth, by virtue of one or both of your parents being citizens, by whatever means they became citizens, you are a “natural born citizen”. that’s the law.

like the declaration of independence, what you’re talking about is not law. same with “separation of church and state”. not law. we can argue intent until the cows come home. what matters is the black-and-white of the law.

A couple of interesting comments! I have not looked into this issue because I do not intend to vote for him next month so I don’t know what the answer is. I think this might become a big problem for Cruz so maybe I am going to have to dig into it a little bit.

I don’t think so because the Supreme Court even though they’re out of their depth and I have no jurisdiction in the matter has come in and rules just like so many other times contrary to the attention of our founders. Look at Obama is not eligible he has allegedly a canyon bother. But they’ve ignored that. So of course Cruz will be eligible. In the eyes of the fraudulent Government.

colddeadhandsdays, can you please quote the law that says what a “natural born citizen” is? no, not some letters back and forth between founders..that’s not law. we can argue intent all day and night..intent isn’t law. I can quote founders that wanted all sorts of things..THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT LAW.

was Obama’s mother a US citizen at the time of his birth? I have found no evidence nor has anyone proposed that she had renounced her citizenship. therefore, by current law and even the law at the time, Obama was a citizen. AT BIRTH. this makes him a NATURAL BORN citizen. the map coordinates on where his mom squeezed him out are irrelevant to his citizenship status! currently the map coordinates are only relevant to foreigners who give birth here..ALSO conferring on their child NATURAL BORN citizenship status. the child was born a citizen. that’s the law.

I suppose if you’d like to change the law…to fit your definition of the founder’s intent….you are welcome to try. good luck with that. but until such time, both obama and cruz are eligible for the position.

They sure have alot to say don’t they. The black women’s religion of politics is enslaving. She still thinks the fraud in chief is credible. BUT, in their world he is – doesn’t matter who his daddy was, or mother, when it comes down to it. As long as he fits their ‘image’ of what they’ve been indoctrinated and brainwashed to believe, is all that matters.Reason is a manipulated and ‘changeable’ thing (like malleable clay – and after-all isn’t that what we came from?). Can one choose who ‘molds’ them? Only if they’re conscious of the fact! Swimming in the sea of humanity though, popping out on the shore and seeing it for what it is, is a desire of the heart to see the truth! Some don’t want to see that … or Him.

That’s right Zip, they have been molded over years and they have no idea! Seek the truth and the truth will set you free, they do not seek the truth and they just blindly believe they have been taught the truth.

Scripture talks of a time: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 1:25) and we’re seeing that. Also the world things that ‘truth sets us free, but it’s stated: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 http://thekingsbible.com/BibleAdvancedSearch.aspx?exc=y&schphr=make%20you%20free
Being ‘set free’ is good, but you can be caught again. Being ‘made free’ is different it’s in your bones and being!
Side note, but I thought to clarify that! It’s like being taught Evolution in school and not realize that it’s a ‘Theory’ because they teach it as fact. So, when you read the Bible it states something totally different! Which to believe and base your life on? Hummm. 🙂

And the next few verses show us what happened once the people stopped worshiping the Creator and it is still happening today.
I should have looked the exact quote up before I posted it! 🙂 That is an interesting distinction there with the proper word “make” in the quote instead of “set.”

Good point Steve. Not only did the evil one turn people’s eyes from worshipping God but even acknowledging His existence (via Evolution theory), thereby passing up & detouring all from: “I am the way, the truth, and the life:” (John 14:6). Btw, there’s only two Bibles that distinguish between “shall make you free” (KJV and NAS) and “will set you free.” It’s something God does, not us in our flesh. Another big difference realization, because it helps keep away our enemy => PrIde – the big ‘I’! In the Natural, being ‘set free’ means ‘free love (fornication)’ ‘free to indulge (to act unlawfully or immorally)’ all of which are illusionary freedoms that are anti-God.

Did you see Lou the fake crying of ‘bad actor-in-chief’ recently? They had to put vinegar or ‘actor’s make you cry onion on his fingers so when he wiped his eyes it activated tears! The sick mentalities of the corrupt ~ stinky and repulsive.

Yep, maybe they used VICKS, that will do it too, anything menthol. Also, after watching his performance, I am struck with the fact that when most people cry, they cry around the tear duct area next to the nose…Obama must so far superior to the rest of us that he can cry out of the other side of his eyes….he is just plain amazing!
I also see a weak President that would go on TV and do that, just think what all the other leaders in the other countries think? Oh, wait, they already know he is weak, this will just give them a video to prove it.

I use to listen to Ann and Laura Ingraham when living in MN. But now neither of them – they’re bent is too emotionally based and rattling for me (to no beneficial end). Like other talk host they have their female heightened emotions that are bothersome more than productive. IF/since the elites put in whoever they want anyway, I guess it doesn’t matter what Ann thinks or us for that matter. Maybe that’s why people like the idea of living on different planets being possible!

Guess I never heard that in Laura, but then again, I do not listen to her that often…she seemed more down to earth with what she had to say, but I will take your word for what you said, based on more time listening/seeing her. There are alot of guys I will not listen to,as well. I take most talk show hosts on the radio or tv with a grain of salt, then I form my own opinion of what they just said…guess that is all we can do. That goes for the “talking heads” that I might run across on the tube.

Yes, Lou, she’s more grounded. I’ve not heard Laura for some time, but when living in MN she provided more sanity than many. What I meant is that the ’emotional’ over ‘factual’ seems to be more prevalent and I prefer to stay out of the emotional pool! Which it sounds as you do too. Here’s some of her recent new articles: http://www.lauraingraham.com/pg/jsp/general/inthenewsarchive.jsp

I knew what you meant, I do not like the “drama queens” that get air time…I think more logically than emotionally, well, most the time. Been known a few times to lose it, but usually I keep control of what I say, ha! I do not want to have to regret it later!

Of course, I would take a lump sum instead of over a number of years….and there is not a snowballs chance in hell that I would even win….and I do not buy lottery tickets….HOWEVER, I feel the need to at least buy 5???
