Bernie Sanders expands lead over Hillary Clinton in latest New Hampshire poll

January 9, 2016

The news continues to go from bad to worse in New Hampshire for Hillary Clinton. Last month a poll showed her behind Bernie Sanders by 10 points in the Granite State and now a poll has come out which shows Bernie Sanders extending his lead slightly.

  Here is more:

Bernie Sanders has soared to a 13-point lead over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire in a Fox News survey out Friday, nearly a month to the day that primary voters will make their decision at the polls on Feb. 9.

Sanders, who in November held a slim 1-point advantage over Clinton in the same poll (45 percent to 44 percent), this time took 50 percent of the vote to 37 percent for Clinton.

And another poll shows him with a 14 point lead:

the latest CBS News/YouGov survey polling primary voters showed Sanders with a 14-point advantage over Clinton (56 percent to 42 percent) in mid-December.

We now have three polls which show Bernie Sanders with a double-digit lead over the former Secretary of State and this could spell trouble for her, especially after a recent survey found that 20% of Democratic voters would vote for Donald Trump if Hillary Clinton is the nominee.

If Bernie Sanders pulls off the win in New Hampshire and Democratic voters read the news about defectors heading into the Trump camp the dominoes could begin to topple.

She deserves everything she has coming to her…you have to figure, she is guilty of so much crap, surely something will catch up to her….”grandma” or not. Just because she is growing OLD, doesn’t mean she is any less dangerous….I will give you SOROS as an example!

Right now we are in the midst of the biggest anti establishment revolution since 1968. Despite less funding and some manufactured scandals, Sanders is climbing up Hilary’s ass.

On the “Republican” side it’s Trump by a large margin AND in some polls, 20% of Democrats say they will vote for Trump for President.

This is a genuine revolt by the People to take back our government from the Establishment, both Democrat and Republican.

I understand perfectly well that many people have severe reservations about Trump, his potential downside is huge, but the reality is that any Democrat, even Sanders would be nothing more than an extension of the last 8 years that have wrecked us. Given a choice between the tender mercies of the Liberals and Trump, Trump is definitely the better choice.

I said it before, vote your conscience in the primary, but in the Presidential election, vote for whoever won the Republican primary, even if he/she isn’t your first choice. Too much of our future is at stake to give any Democrat the reins of power again.

I think you hit the nail on the head Dr. Jeff, even on the Democratic side we are seeing a little bit of a revolt. I saw the poll about 20% of the Democrats jumping ship if Hillary is the nominee as well and that is quite telling. Sitting home is one thing but to actually change sides is something like that does not happen all that often, although I think in 2008 some moderate Republicans did vote for Obama.
I vowed not to vote if McCain was the nominee and then I vowed not to vote if Romney was the nominee but in the end I went to the poll and pulled the lever, I am not making that vow again this year because I know in the end I will probably do it again.

Dr. J. and Steve, we have seen what putting in an establishment candidate has done for us, gotten us a Democratic President. For some reason any of the GOPe candidates back down too easily. This I do not see in Trump! Maybe he is not the perfect candidate, but can anyone say who is? Jeb? Remember he was supposed to be the chosen one? Then Trump came on scene and Jeb just could not stand up to him, that is what he would do IF he had become the Republican candidate…he would be a woose! Yes, I will vote for Trump, I will vote for Cruz, the others, if it turns out someone else is the candidate, I will vote for them….I will never vote for a Democrat. when we hear that some Democrats are crossing over, are they the Blue Dog Democrats from the past or are there any of them left? Maybe they are ones that Obama and his Administration have directly hurt in some way. I would be curious to know who they actually are.
The media is not our friend! There I said it! They are out to mess with our minds, they are out to change stats, put untruths in the paper and on tv…they are out to make us have “doubt” for the front runner. Any way they can, they will mess with our minds and try and make us see it their way. I am not buying it and hope after this election, IF we get a good President that cares about US, that he/she will knock the media down to ground level and make them start over and become the media of years past that were non-political and non-biased and reported what was truly the way things were…that would be refreshing, wouldn’t it?

The one thing I will say about Trump is he has been able to buck the establishment in this race. If this were any other year Jeb would be the nominee because the money would be behind him and the other candidates would not be able to compete but money is not an issue with Trump.
I just do not believe he is the conservative he is claiming to be in this race.

At this point, Steve, that is a small issue to me….other than Cruz, I know what the others are….I still think a Trump/Cruz ticket would be wonderful. I see Trump doing a 4 year term and then bowing out and letting Cruz take it from there. Bottom line, what choice do we have but to trust in someone that is standing up to the establishment and able to take on Clinton? It may all turn to crap, but at this time, I am in Trumps corner. As for being a conservative, do we actually know that about any of the others? Maybe Cruz, but then again what about his immigration status? Any we look at are just not perfect.

You make great points Lou, at this point what do we really have to lose?! There is no perfect candidate and the one candidate that I believe actually understands the Constitution is not going anywhere in the polls, I will still vote for him next month. I have concerns about Cruz’s eligibility as well and I think this issue is going to take him down when the voting starts.

I guess we vote who we want for the first vote, but on the second voting with a Dem challenger, we have to support the party candidate OR we will get Clinton, I am sure of it. Ones that want to sit it out and not vote will be giving Clinton a vote, free. I think Cruz is not an issue on his eligibility, but if Clinton feels threatened she will try and go after him. We have a dilemma her, any way you look at it.
