Global warming alarmist Bernie Sanders is flying around the country on private planes

 Democratic Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders is perhaps the leading voice on global warming out of all the candidates who are running for President, so much so that during one debate which was focused on foreign policy he lamented the fact that there was not a mention of global warming. Of course he is one of those people who have tried to link global warming to national security so I suppose he thought talking about global warming during a foreign policy debate was justified.

  Unlike other leading voices in the global warming movement, such as Al Gore, Bernie Sanders has more or less tried to live up to some of the expectations he has for others on this issue: Unlike the aforementioned Al Gore, Bernie Sanders has flown coach on commercial airplanes most of the time, however something interesting has happened now that his Presidential aspirations have grown and his candidacy has taken on a legitimacy in the Democratic party.

  He, and his campaign staff, have grown fond of taking private planes around the country. When he was asked to justify this he had something interesting to say. Here is more:

The Vermont senator, who is running for president on a populist message and often speaks passionately about environmental issues, was for months regularly seen flying in coach class on commercial flights.

There is even a community of photos on Twitter, under the hashtag #SandersOnAPlane, where fans have posted photos after seeing him fly. There will likely be fewer photos of a luggage-wielding Sanders moving forward.

This holiday season, Sanders changed his routine and flew almost exclusively on private chartered planes with members of his traveling staff — taking at least four trips.

ABC News asked Sanders about whether the extremely high per-person carbon footprint of private planes was consistent with his staunch environmental policies. Sanders often talks about the need for “bold” action on climate change and even criticized the recent international Paris Accord for not going far enough to curb carbon emissions.

“The carbon footprint? As opposed to what?” the 74-year-old Senator said recently. “We are trying to get around Iowa and get around the country as best we can. So we have a lot of people to see and that is the best way can do it.”

  Carbon footprint? What carbon footprint? That was gist of his answer. Suddenly his campaign is surging and he now appears to be putting his personal goals ahead of saving the planet or national security. Bernie Sanders now feels as if he has a real chance to wrest the nomination away from Hillary Clinton and so his carbon footprint has taken a back seat to seeing as many people as he can on the campaign trail, even if that means hurting the environment he was previously trying to save.

 Funny how that works, isn’t it? Bernie Sanders is now nothing more than another global warming hypocrite. Not to mention he is now living the 1%er lifestyle he has been railing against for months…
