Sunday, March 6th open thread: ‘People Who Died’
Here is the open thread for Sunday, March 6th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
Last week we covered 12 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.
In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.
The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!
My most popular post of all time is a list I posted back in 2007 about all of the suspicious deaths surrounding the Clinton’s. Hardly a day goes by when this post is not read and with the election season upon us it has been either the most popular post of the day or within the top three for a few weeks now. However in the last three days this post has taken off at a remarkable pace (at least for America’s Watchtower) and it has been due to being shared on Facebook. I think this serves as a great reminder what a powerful tool social media can be when it comes to spreading our message and I think we micro-bloggers could help each other out immensely if we make an effort to share each other’s posts on Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, and the like. You never know when it will lead to a post taking off.
The popularity of this post reminded me of a song by the Jim Carrol Band called “People Who Died” and so I thought I would share it with you today, it seems fitting. It is a little but morbid but here goes:

It is of concern to me, you start expecting certain people to post at certain time. He is an early poster, guess it is late for where he is. Hope he is not having problems and in the hospital.

Yes Lou if I were to live somewhere like you discrive it be much better, but I lived most of my life outside Switzerland and now I am back, I feel home, I’ve got my mountains and a landscape that i had missed (done my Army in the Mountain,was young and angry)and now music is life, life is music, I won’t move, the world has change but no for the best, Safe haven no more..They put Mosque in Iceland in Greenland supposedly Safe Haven left Antartic.. ???

I do not know that we are safe any where now for certain, SDL. I am unsure of what you said here. You are not well, that is for sure, will have you in my thoughts that this gets better for you. Music is a good healer, hope you are safe, where ever you are at the moment. Being home has to be a good feeling for you!

The Jim Carroll Band released this in 1979. The song was a bio of sorts of Carrol’s life as a self destructing drug addict and those around him who didn’t survive. This was popular, receiving air play around the same time as Vince Vance and The Valients’ Bomb Bomb Iran in early 1980.

Catholic Boy was a terrific album and it has been called the last great punk rock album! Jim always considered himself to be more of a poet than a song writer and sadly a few years ago his name was added to the list of people who died.

I haven he 46 as well as the album (33 LP.) I believe he died in 2009. I’ll have to look it up sometime.
P.S. Bomb Iran was a parody of the Regent’s “Barbara Ann.” The Beach Boys hit was a cover. Imagine today a Bomb ISIS record, a parody of who knows what. The writer, arranger and performed(s) would be jailed for causing religion of peace terrorist attacks.

Yeah, he died in 2009 of a heart attack. He was working at his desk when he passed away. I have not heard that song but will have to look it up. Nobody could get away with that today, remember when McCain took heat for singing “bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” when he was running for President?

It’s always interesting which posts catch on. Sometimes I work for hours thinking it is a masterpiece only to get few hits. Then years ago, as a lark, I caught no doubt some intern over a the CNBC website with a post with great pics and stpries on the best kind of pot. Tens of thousands of clicks latter it still gets hits every day. So my blog focus wasn’t apparently on the right topic!! still laugh every day about it.

I understand what you are saying about masterpieces! I wrote a couple of posts which I thought were my masterpieces and they never got any traction either, it is hard to figure what people are interested in sometimes.
My second most popular post is a post I am embarrassed about now but it still shows up every day as one of the top read posts. I want to delete it but I figure as long as it brings people here maybe they will read some of my newer stuff so I have left it alone.

I was thinking the reason the FBi is being used to bring Hilly out – is the stronger of the group that say, ‘Dems have had the post for 2 terms now it’s the Reps time’ and they want Mitt – their buddy in the secret society who’ll do as they say, just as current crises actor.

It is interesting to me Lou (not THAT interesting but …) that they’re bringing Mitt back in the game. Since the Dems have held the chair for 2 terms now it’s the Repb.s time. And since they don’t like Donald (who know if he’s in on the con or not? but the way they’re connecting him to the kkk, it’s as if they’re going for the throat!) they want one of their ‘own’ in who’ll do it their way (whichever ‘group’ holds the reins [reigns] and directing/controlling things). Strange that Hilly is being shuffled out – to me. And since they can’t knock off Trump – giving themselves away and have a rebellion of those who are torqued off enough to do something (within the Constitution), they have to streamline Mitt in like it’s legit and have Cruz or Rubio (drinks their water!) as VP. But like you state, one is as the other and if their not then their not IN.

Well, Romney is just making an ass of himself to alot of people. He was soft when he ran and he is soft now. Just what we need. McCain was just as bad! There are alot of things I do NOT like about Trump, but being soft is not one of them. Cruz is alright, too. I am to the point that I think we have no say in what is going to happen, they just want us to think we do.
They keep messing with Clinton and Sanders and I think one minute they are out to get her and then something happens and she is untouchable again. Don’t you think we are being conned? I wonder why we are even wasting time on trying to figure it out when there is just no answer to the rhyme of reason to the whole campaign.

I would say you are probably correct in your thinking. There are 2 sets of rules, their and ours…by theirs, I mean ALL of Congress, not just one side or the other. There is just that handful of people we have sent to DC that are still in the fight, but not enough to make a change. They do not have to cover up what they are doing anymore because there is no one left that can make a major stand against them. Sucks, doesn’t it?

Interesting videos, thanks for sharing them! I had not though about Obama using this election as a means to secure an emergency nominee to SCOTUS but it sure sounds plausible.
It is interesting to note that JFK was killed within a year of making that speech.
