Bernie Sanders destroys Hillary Clinton in Washington and Alaska caucuses

March 26, 2016

bernies-sanders-nutsBefore I headed off to work this morning I quickly read a story about how Hillary Clinton was poised to sweep the three Democratic contests today and for all intents and purposes put an end to Bernie Sanders’s hopes at becoming President. But that was not to be…

CNN is reporting that Bernie Sanders has won the first two states–Washington and Alaska–and the results were not even close. As I write this Bernie Sanders has nearly 80% of the vote in Alaska and he has over 75% of the vote in Washington.

From what I understand all of the Democratic contests award the delegates proportionally, none are winner take all, so it is going to be hard for Bernie Sanders to catch Hillary Clinton at this point. But I think this does show us that a good proportion of the Democratic voters are not as enamored with the  former Secretary of State as the party would have the American people believe.

Up next is Hawaii, one of Barack Obama’s home states, so it will be interesting to see if Bernie Sanders can continue his dominance today or if Hillary Clinton can rebound.

The implosion is coming, I don’t think it can be stopped. But of course I believe this was Trump’s goal all along.
