After listing all the reasons she should be indicted FBI Director James Comey lets Hillary Clinton off the hook

July 5, 2016

FBI Director Nominee James Comey Confirmation Hearing In his press conference today FBI Director James Comey confirmed almost everything that we have been saying about Hillary Clinton when he listed all the reasons she should be indicted over her email scandal, before he let her off the hook.

James Comey confirmed to us that despite a sworn statement to the contrary Hillary Clinton failed to turn over all official emails and some of them have been deleted and are lost forever, he confirmed that she jeopardized national security and there is the real potential that our secrets have fallen into the hands of our enemies, and he confirmed she sent and received classified information (which was classified at the time, again in contrary to her claim) on her unsecured server. It also appears as if she lied to the Congress so it will be interesting to see if they have what it takes to make the next step.

 Here is more:

Comey confirmed the existence of vast amounts of information on her private server that was classified when sent. Comey also confirmed that Clinton did not hand over some of her emails, even though she signed a sworn affidavit that she had done so.

“From the group of 30,000 e-mails returned to the State Department in 2014, 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received. Eight of those chains contained information that was top secret at the time they were sent; 36 of those chains contained secret information at the time, and eight contained confidential information at the time. That’s the lowest level of classification,” Comey said.

  And this:

“Now, let me tell you what we found. Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of the classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information,” Comey said.

Okay, the FBI did not find evidence that the Secretary of State broke the law on purpose but since when has that been an excuse? But I digress..

  More still:

There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position or in the position of those with whom she was corresponding about the matters should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation…

…None of these e-mails should have been on any kind of unclassified system. But their presence is especially concerning because all of the e-mails were housed on unclassified personal servers, not even supported by full-time security staff like those found at agencies and departments of the United States government or even with a commercial e-mail service like Gmail,” Comey added.

Even Gmail would have been more secure! But wait, there’s more:

She also used her personal e-mail extensively while outside of the United States, including sending and receiving work-related e- mails in the territory of sophisticated adversaries. Given that combination of factors, we assess it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail account.”

And then, like Pontius Pilate but in reverse, he absolved himself from the final verdict:

“As a result, although the Department of Justice makes final decisions on matters like this, we are expressing to the justices our view that no further charges are appropriate in this case.”

But even while stating the FBI did not think charges were appropriate he basically admitted that anyone else in this situation would face charges:

“To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences,” Comey said during his surprise press conference. “To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions.”

But “that is not what we are deciding now,” he added.

Hillary ClintonThat, in my opinion, is a stunning admission that the FBI is not recommending an indictment when normally one would be called for! While the result of this investigation, up to and including the decision not to recommend an indictment, is disappointing it is not surprising and is almost understandable. James Comey did not want to become the next victim of Arkanice because he knows full well what happens when people cross the Clinton’s.

The good news in all of this is that while James Comey washed his hands of the final decision he still indicted Hillary Clinton in the court of public opinion and this story is still not going to go away any time soon. Even the supporters of Bernie Sanders understand this was politically motivated and they are not happy. They already feel, and rightly so, as if they have been screwed over by the Clinton machine and it is hard to imagine they will support the presumptive Democratic nominee in November.

In addition to the Judicial Watch investigation which still continues and will be a story throughout the campaign, James Comey has given Donald Trump the talking points he needs to ensure this scandal does not go away. That is if Donald Trump, and this is a big if in my opinion, can actually stay on point and stop shooting himself in the foot every few days.

I read that comment Lou and I think that is exactly what he was doing. He knows how dangerous it is to oppose the Clinton’s so he played it safe but still gave Trump the ammo he needs to take hew down.

He is not a stupid man, but he may be doing a CYA at the moment. That he put out that info tells it pretty much. Now, if he had not done that, I would think differently of him, but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he was putting something into motion.

I think he was putting something in motion even though he didn’t go all the way. He did not exonerate Hillary Clinton because this is not going to go away. He reminded the American people she was a criminal even though he decided (out of self-preservation?) not to recommend charges.

The election is rigged the votes have already been cast. Coney will get his reward when Hillary becomes President. If he was an honest person with moral integrity he would have resigned after his song and dance.

He didn’t take it to Lynch and she was expecting that as she state she wanted to hear the case… so Comey did what he did for any number of reasons. I have another take on it.
