Sunday, July 17th open thread: ‘Just Like Heaven’
Here is the open thread for Sunday, July 17th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
Last week we discussed 10 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.
In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.
The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!
I could not decide what to share this week for the musical selection so I decided to fall back on my favorite band. Here is The Cure performing “Just Like Heaven” from the show I was at last month. “Just Like Heaven” is Lauri’s favorite song by The Cure so I dedicate this song to my beautiful wife of almost 27 years.
Enjoy:

Here’s for when you & Lauri want to slow dance:

We know how Steve likes these movies, me too! No shame in actually liking something that had some talent in it, is there? Thanks for posting, Zip….I have been pretty upset about this police shooting again, have been angry and upset at the same time, not a good combination for me!

I do love these movies! Not only were they talented but the acting in all the old movies and the dialogue was much better then in my opinion. Boy does that make me sound old! 🙂 They didn’t have to rely on special effects.

Of course we won’t be dancing quite like that. 😉

Haha. I’m sure you dance together in unison of heart! 🙂
Oh, came across this original version by Jimmie Davis. Some preach that you can’t know, he says you can!
Our 5 physical senses might not be able to ‘feel this’, but that spiritual sense can experience it and does!

“I’m sure you dance together in unison of heart!” I like that Zip! Yes, in our hearts we dance like Fred and Ginger in our love! I also like this version of “I was there when it happened.”

Howdy Lou! Good to ‘see’ you! I’m doing much better, so thanks for asking. Great to be back! How are you?

Hey GOOD to see you back Lorra (no pun intended – having had literal back problems for some time)! Yes, those old movies had some class didn’t they!

Hey Zip! LOL! Loved the pun…Backs, can’t live with’em can’t live without’em. 😂 It’s nice to know you get it (not that I would wish that on anyone), sure can be debilitating. Hope you are well!?

Yep, just fine ~ thanks! Our bodies are more fragile than we realize. Wondrously made! But, can make us wonder alot too when things go south. Us young chicks have to be careful 🤓

Ah yes, busy. But, I’d rather be busy then a bump on a log (having been just that for awhile, LOL!). Glad things are ok…

Ha, I know the back thing, 2 naturally fused vertebra and a sciatic from hell down the right leg into my toes….keep telling myself it will go away….someone my body isn’t listening 😦

UGH! Then YOU get it too! It’s the worst and the pain simply can’t be explained. NOT for sissies!

Awe! Thanks Steve! Sure have missed everyone! WordPress is different now…is it me or are the articles limited coming to our Reader? I’m not seeing 1/4 of who I’m following…any ideas? Just to obnoxiously pick your brain…🙄😂 How are you??

I don’t use the wordpress reader so I don’t know if anything changed there. I am doing very well. I went through a tough period last year but I am now in a better place than I have been in years!

Lorra, I guess IF one could bend the leg to take a step forward and IF one could get thru a whole store without being in extreme pain and IF one could sleep thru the whole night without having to get up and walk around many times to ease the pain, well, then I guess it would be tolerable, haha! I keep telling myself there are alot more people worse off than I am.

OMGOSH! I sooooo hear that! That’s exactly what I tell myself as well. Those when it’s at its worst it’s hard to remember all those folks who are worse off…but I do try! HAHA

Thanks Lorra, 2015 was a tough year but at the same time it got me to where I am today so in a way I am grateful for it.
