Newt Gingrich says Donald Trump is helping Hillary Clinton win

August 3, 2016

Newt GingrichThis story is not nearly as conspiratorial my headline suggests. This should have been a bad week for Hillary Clinton after she appeared on Fox News Sunday and lied about what FBI Director James Comey said about her email scandal. However Donald Trump stole the headline and made himself the victim of nearly a week of bad press when he attacked Khizr Khan.

To be fair, the more we learn about Khizr Khan the less on the level he seems to be, however Donald Trump was given the perfect opportunity to go after Hillary Clinton and instead he chose to attack a man who said something mean about him, thereby letting Hillary Clinton off the hook for lying on national television.

Rudy Guiliani gave Donald Trump some words of advice earlier this week when he told the billionaire businessman to focus on the former Secretary of State and the current President and let his surrogates concentrate on everybody else.

“My advice to Donald would be, you have one person to attack: Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama — it’s the Obama administration” Guiliani said. “Let all of us — myself, Gingrich, Christie, this whole army — let us attack everybody else.

“If it’s a factual error they make, then use a surrogate to dispute the factual error,” he explained. “If all they do is a general criticism, laugh them off and ignore them.”

In my opinion Rudy Guiliani is spot on but will Donald Trump listen to him? That is the question which we will soon know the answer to. Today Newt Gingrich, who is probably one of Donald Trump’s biggest supporters in the establishment, came out and said that if the billionaire businessman continues down this path he will help Hillary Clinton become the next President because he will make himself even more “unacceptable” with the swing voters than the former Secretary of State. Here is what he had to say:

Former House speaker Newt Gingrich, one of Trump’s most loyal defenders, warned that his friend was in danger of throwing away the election and helping to make Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton president unless he quickly changes course.

“The current race is which of these two is the more unacceptable, because right now neither of them is acceptable,” Gingrich said in a Wednesday morning telephone interview. “Trump is helping her to win by proving he is more unacceptable than she is.”

Gingrich said Trump has only a matter of weeks to reverse course. “Anybody who is horrified by Hillary should hope that Trump will take a deep breath and learn some new skills,” he said. “He cannot win the presidency operating the way he is now. She can’t be bad enough to elect him if he’s determined to make this many mistakes.”

Newt Gingrich is right: if  Donald Trump wants to win the Presidency (and that is a big if in my book) he needs to “take a deep breath” and focus on Hillary Clinton rather than give the all-too-willing media the easy opportunity it needs to take the focus off of Hillary Clinton.

Newt Gingrich said Donald Trump cannot win the election if he is “determined to make this many mistakes” and I find it to be an interesting quote because I think he is doing this on purpose. I question whether these are mistakes in the first place, I think he knows exactly what he is doing because he knows how the media will react. Why make it easier on them…

I doubt if we’re even being given the breath off stream the tip of the iceberg of what’s really going on! Like sitting pigeons, naive to what they’re all really doing and would’ve understand OR believe it if we were told straight out. Naw, they can’t be THAT BAD! Ha.

Zip, oh to be a fly on the wall!! Our brains would probably explode if we only knew the half of it! The Trumpster really needs to start taking some of his peeps advice. Now, while I truly like that he is who he is (I ‘get’ him I think), he really needs to think about the ones who don’t get him at all. I not asking he change who he is by any means but he does have to start considering THINKING before he speaks a bit more. IMHO. 🙂

I am one of those who don’t get him at all but I do like that he is unwilling to be politically correct. The media is baiting him and he keeps taking the bait, he needs to stop focusing so much on what the media is saying about him and he needs to start going after Hillary 24 hours a day.

I hear an “intervention” is being planned this weekend with Trump. Those in the know are going to tackle him about his behavior.

I heard they were also trying to figure out a way to replace him if he drops out. It makes you wonder if something else is going on we don’t know about.

You mean Chico and Harpo are going to advise Groucho how to run a successful campaign. This should be good!

They say a gaffe is when a politician accidentally tells the truth and I think that is what we just heard there.

Gingrich has made enough money hurting the American people, really. He should retire and enjoy his ill-gotten gains.
