Flashback: Barack Obama slams George Bush for ignoring Louisiana flooding after Hurricane Katrina
When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans back in 2005 George Bush was on vacation and both the left and the media (but I repeat myself) had a field day with a President they claimed was out of touch and uncaring. Then Senator Barack Obama was no stranger when it came to blasting George Bush for vacationing while the people of New Orleans were suffering through an unbelievable natural disaster.
Here is what he said:
Yet as parts of Louisiana are underwater today Barack Obama has been absent because he is on vacation. I believe today he played his ninth round of golf while parts of Louisiana are suffering through the same devastation as did New Orleans in 2005, yet he gets a free pass in the media because it does not fit the narrative.
At least George Bush saw the devastation from an airplane as he flew overhead. Barack Obama has only seen the devastation form the television, if he has seen it at all, and yet the Democrats and the mainstream media remain silent. And by the way, why are not the Republicans calling him out on his hypocrisy?
malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium
Bush as the former governor of Texas should have been acutely aware of the need to be intimately involved in the response to Katrina. Governors have to communicate – hold press conferences with their State Emergency Managers. Bush’s press secretary and staff failed him by not advising him on how to handle the crisis.
A huricane is not a flood. The public and media are watching as it approaches. Warnings go up. The media is filming the approach, the storm surge and the increasing winds and rain. The death toll from Katrina was 2,000 vs 13 for the current flood.

Not that I think Bush handled Katriana as well as he should have but he did call the Gov. and asked if they needed help and it was refused. I also remember that when the hurricane was over it was being reported that it was not as bad as they thought it could be and it wasn’t until a few hours later when the levees broke that all hell broke loose.

Trump went to Louisiana and meet with Franklin Graham – Samaritan’s Purse and Tony Perkins – Family Research Council. These charitable volunteer organizations are directly helping the people affected by the flooding. Meanwhile the community organizer is waiting for the sky to clear so he can shove Federal programs on these people.
Also the Clinton News Network accidentally showed this report.

Good find CJ. Good for Trump! Instead of yabbering about it or ignoring it, he did something worthwhile to help! So much scamming went on with the crooks getting the money that people donated to those in need after Katrina, people are leery and don’t know who can be trusted to sent aid ($$) to so it doesn’t end up in a Senator/Congress/gov official’s ice box or Admins. of ‘so-called aid orgs’. I’m sure many would like to send funds to help, but because of what’s been done to destroy this country (closures, loss of employ., crummy job market and low pay) they/we can’t!

Yes, Zip is right, great find! Funny how the MSM isn’t reporting this, isn’t it?!

They do not want to show that the responders are Christian organizations. That goes against there narrative that only a large Federal Government can help people.

The Governor of Louisiana asked President Obama to wait a bit to visit so has to let the 1st responders, FEMA etc. Get around, with not being hampered by the necessary road closers and details involved when having the President in town.
Mr. OBAMA is going down on Tuesday! #😀

Yeah, he was shamed into it by Trump. But of course he is still going to finish his vacation first…
