John Kerry says the media shouldn’t cover terrorist attacks so people won’t ‘know what’s going on’

August 30, 2016

Secretary of State John Kerry spoke in Bangladesh yesterday and he said that a good way to combat terrorism would be for the media not to cover terrorist attacks so that “people wouldn’t know what’s going on.”

I am not making this up, here is more:

During his first official visit to Bangladesh, Secretary of State John Kerry held a press conference and addressed the threat of terrorism.

Kerry offered a novel way to combat terrorism, suggesting that the media would “do us all a service” if they didn’t cover it “quite as much.”

“No country is immune from terrorism,” Kerry said at a press availability in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Monday. “It’s easy to terrorize. Government and law enforcement have to be correct 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. But if you decide one day you’re going to be a terrorist and you’re willing to kill yourself, you can go out and kill some people. You can make some noise. Perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover it quite as much. People wouldn’t know what’s going on.”

If he ever gets called out on wanting the keep the public ignorant of world events he will likely use the if we don’t publicize the attacks and make infamous the people carrying out the attacks it will be a disincentive for others who are carrying out terrorist attacks seeking notoriety.

But of course this would be ignoring the fact these attacks are ideologically based, not notoriety based, and even if the attacks are not reported the terrorists will continue to do the bidding of the ideology, the American people just will not know about it.

And when you come right down to it keeping the American people in the dark about terrorism is what his statement is all about as is evident in his last comment. John Kerry just doesn’t want the American people to “know what is going on” because it would shine a light on the ineptitude of himself, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and the Democratic party in regards to making the world a safer place.

I fail to see the logic in what he said, but then again, it IS John Kerry! When the media stops reporting what is going on is the day they stop being useful…..WAIT, they are already not reporting what is “really” going on….so, isn’t it kind of unnecessary for Kerry to even tell them to stop reporting the attacks?
I feel like my IQ level is slowly falling the more I try to make any sense out of what this Administration is saying.

Yeah, there is no logic other than wanting his failures to go unreported, but you make a good point; the media stopped doing its job a long time ago.

He is just one more “accident” waiting to happen. He is completely useless as a Sec of State, as was the previous one. Don’t they actually have to accomplish something, anything to be good at what they are doing? I would say we are the laughing stock of the WORLD, if that is the best we have to put into a position, such as it is. I think it could not get any worse unless they put someone like Hank Johnson (tipping Guam island fame) into the position. I may be sorry I said that, he might be in the running if Clinton gets into office.

At least if Hank Johnson was Secretary of State it would be worth a few laughs plus I think he can take credit for Guam still floating. That is more than Hillary or Jerry can boast of. 🙂

Zip, you have to admit, Kerry IS very photogenic, in a strange sort of way! The more we see pics of him, the more we are drawn to see more, if only for a chuckle value. What a legacy for him, isn’t it? I wonder if he knows he is an idiot? Well, I suppose he doesn’t.

He sees himself very differently than we do I’m sure. He believes he was born to be President, how it must grind on him to see who the elites chose for the position (then and NOW!) and telling him to step down. The spirit of pride is insidious and its opposite the spirit of humility, seems to a foreign quality of character to those in leadership positions and one they obvious care less about having! Oh the restraint to be truthful, moral and ethical!

And he does love to have his picture taken Lou. A Boston talk show host calls him “live shot” because there is never a photo op he doesn’t take. Heck, he even took a video camera to Vietnam!

Pride comes before a fall, right Zip? Still waiting for that fall, perhaps it was him being denied what he thought was his birthright–the Presidency.

Death by a thousand cuts is what is occurring to the U.S.

Most people don’t recognize Islam as an ideology whose goal is conquer all non believers. What we call terrorism is jihad – attacks on non believers with the goal of advancing Islam. Islam has done more in the past 50 years then in the last 500 years. Islam Is relentless. The West has failed to be vigilantl

You are right CJ, many people don’t want to admit the truth and it is slowly killing us.
