Hillary Clinton’s IT guru ignores Congressional subpoena, Chaffetz threatens action

September 13, 2016

The man who set up and maintained Hillary Clinton’s personal email server has a knack of showing up to Congressional hearings and pleading the fifth but today was different. Today Brian Pagliano just blew off the hearing, here is more:

The former State Department IT specialist who set up Hillary Clinton’s private server ignored a subpoena to appear Tuesday before a House committee hearing, while other tech experts who helped maintain the system asserted their Fifth Amendment right not to testify – frustrating Republican lawmakers trying to dig deeper into the former secretary of state’s email setup.

House Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz was not happy and is exploring his options:

“He should be here. … It is not optional,” Chaffetz said. “His attendance is required here.”

According to this story one option is up to one year in jail:

shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000 nor less than $100 and imprisonment in a common jail for not less than one month nor more than twelve months.

Wouldn’t you like to know what he is willing to go to jail for in order to keep it out of the news? He sure seems willing to go to great measures to protect Hillary Clinton.

Will Jason Chaffetz have the guts to take this all the way or is this just more tough talk from the Republicans?

malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium

So far, it’s all a lot of talk, and no action.
