Sunday, September 25th open thread: ‘Cosmik Debris’
Here is the open thread for Sunday, September 25th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
Last week we discussed 7 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.
In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.
The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!
Here is Frank Zappa performing “Cosmik Debris” live from I believe 1973. Where can I get a pair of pants like that?

Isn’t that what the Global Leaders push and hire – put into leadership positions? One big stage show! Does it matter to them what the peons think? in the feudal system? There’s 2 different realities, theirs’= what’s really going on and the illusional one we’ve been conditioned and raised up in thinking and believing to be real!

I don’t doubt that something like this could happen, and I won’t be surprised if it does. As the narrator said, the environment has been set up and the media is set to carry out the narrative.

Too bad lard ass cancelled her Charlotte, NC, appearance. I was so looking forward to once again here that delightful Southern Baptist Negro accent as only she can pull off. Any other white person would be thrown off the stage. But then again the first black First Lady -thats right Mooch, her loofaed cellulite ridden white fat ass superseded your fat greasy sweaty pimply black ass in the White House- should be given a pass regardless of whomever she racially offends in our PC infected country.

Staying on offence without being offensive, as she said, is the key. He has to be hard on her and call her out when she dodges the questions. Thanks for sharing this.

Frank Zappa. Now there, was a head trip.

Frank was one of the strangest products to come out of the 60’s. Every single note for every musician was written out, and he demanded it be played exactly as written, even the drums, which he said few drummers could read music. Never have such strange lyrics been combined with such complex music. As a kid in Catholic school, many songs were absolutely forbidden, so we “snuck” out to listen.

I think that sometimes his strange lyrics take away from how brilliant the music was.

We used to laugh. “Is that you, Suzy Creamcheese?”
Guy was unbelievable.

What Steve, you think that an admonition against eating “the yellow snow” is a little distracting?

Like me Steve, you said you were raised Catholic, so you have to like “St. Alfonso’s pancake breakfast” with Father Vivian O’Blivian

Phi Zappa Crappa- my favorite poster in my teenage years. The man was pure music genius as well as an intellectual giant. He was able to arrange this song with elements of jazz, blues, rock and funk all harmoniously rolled in together. And the solos, incredible. Turn on the black light, smoke a doobie, turn up the stereo and lay on the floor. We knew how to chill out back then…

He truly was a genius and there will never be another one like him. After Gary Johnson’s week I am starting to believe he took your scenario to another level back in the day.

I’m sure you have some pajama bottoms like those Zappa pants Steve!
I read that Zappa was anti-drugs. The part about the crystal ball and acting deep while he proceeds to rob the mystery man’s goods, speaks to a ‘mind-set’: It concerns the Mystery Man, a typical guru or psychic, offering to help the narrator reach Nervanna. So, anti-dust whether it be physical or spiritual – no pixie dust for him!
The ‘talents’ the LORD has placed in each to share ~ they really point to our Creator!

Those were some great videos! That last one nearly brought a tear to me eye! My pajama bottoms are camo but I am going to have to look at getting a pair like that. 🙂
Frank Zappa never did drugs or drank alcohol, he was clean. I got the same interpretation of this song as you did.

I had to look it the info up Steve. I remember the song but back then didn’t pay attention to any of those things! I don’t know what I did pay attention to but obviously it wasn’t important in the long run!!!
I’m sure your wife will get you those snazzy PJ’s if you ask real nicely!!! 🙂
Yes, we never know how we’ll affect someone’s life by showing some real kindness – better that than the other!

It is funny but I never really paid attention to what the lyrics of songs were actually saying until a couple of years ago and now I always listen to try to figure out what the message is. In this song Frank Zappa turned the tables on the “mystery man” or the snake oil salesman because he was not buying what was being sold.
Maybe I will have to ask Lauri if she can find me some PJs like that!

You posted the Goebbel’s one last week but not the first one. Between this “leak” in Alabama and the EPA “accidentally” spilling all that oil in Colorado earlier I think it is safe to say the Hegelian Dialectic is at play here.

Someone I know in AL, stated they weren’t having any problems getting gas or that the price had increased, but in GA and those other states that’s not the story. It just seems very suspicious to me.

Stop and frisk in Charlotte. This is a video from Joe Biggs at Infowars on his experience with a stop and frisk. Thanks Steve, we all need to reread the Bill of Rights and check our understanding of what was written and what it means. We are often tricked into giving up our liberty to feel safe.

It is what Ben Franklin warned about: those who would give up liberty for security will have neither.
