Sunday, October 23rd open thread: ‘Romeo and Juliet’

October 23, 2016

open-threadHere is the open thread for Sunday, October 23rd. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week  we discussed 8 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!

I heard this song on the radio for the first time in years earlier this week and decided to share it, here is Dire Straits performing “Romeo and Juliet” live from 1996,

A ballad from the 1968 Franco Ziffirelli film Romeo and Juliet. All part of the youth movement of the time.

The Romeo and Juliet story is really quite symbolic, in many ways, but I see it today as Love and innocence vs their opposites! The world’s perspective teaches people things that steal away the loveliness of Life and heart-filled desires that go beyond the confounds of one’s self or social bent. Seems that only in death and loss do the shackles that blind fall off and one sees they’ve been deluded by imaginations of deceived by illusions. OR the corrupted mindset is made tighter and more secure to continue the feud (the Agenda, pay back, utter control and power concealed in darkness and ill will) – which really turns out to be a spiritual battle for the possession of one’s soul, mind and heart! The spirit of a Nation, a family health depends on the premise – foundational values, precepts and substance – it’s built upon. And if the premise is faulty (based on lies, half-truths and illusion) so goes the whole structure! Everyone already knows this. But, it came to mind so Happy Sunday Share! 🙂

A tribute song for our brother who recent flew to the Moon and beyond.

    Another jazzy rendition:

When mankind merges w/ the dark forces of the fallen, his/her ungodly nature evolves

(The Excalibur movie displayed a tough and violent depiction of medieval life (in the middle of evil) type of world.)
