Barack Obama does not believe James Comey is trying to influence the outcome of the election

 For the past couple of months Democrats have been telling the American people that FBI Director James Comey was a man of integrity who would never let politics get in the way of his decisions. Let’s be frank about it: they have been heaping all kinds of praise on the man. But that was then and this is now and the situation has changed.

 With the news that James Comey has reopened the Hillary Clinton email case because new information has come to light (how dare he!) the Democrats now feel as if the FBI Director is a political hack who is doing the bidding of the Republican party in an attempt to influence the election. It is quite stunning to watch this sudden reversal as Democrats seem to forget that this would not have been an issue in the first place if Hillary Clinton did set up a personal email server in order to avoid FOIA requests. She has nobody to blame but herself.

  However there is one Democrat who still believes James Comey is a man of integrity who is not trying to influence the outcome of the election and that person is none other than Barack Obama himself. Here is what White House  Press Secretary Josh Earnest had to say earlier today:

“The president doesn’t believe that Director Comey is intentionally trying to influence the outcome of an election,” he said. “The president doesn’t believe that he’s secretly strategizing to benefit one candidate or one political party. He’s in a tough spot, and he’s the one who will be in a position to defend his actions in the face of significant criticism from a variety of legal experts, including individuals who served in senior Department of Justice positions in administrations that were led by presidents in both parties.”

  With that one small paragraph Josh Earnest undercut the spin the Democrats are trying to put on this story. The Democrats are not being totally honest about this because they do not seem to be upset James Comey has reopened the email investigation but rather that he told the Congress he did. 

  James Comey told the Congress under oath that the investigation was over and it appears as if it was at that time, however new evidence came to light and the FBI had to reopen the investigation. If James Comey did what it appears these Democrats wanted him to do–keep this a secret until after the election–there is the very real possibility he could face perjury charges. This is why he “felt obligated” to inform the Congress–he was! This of course is what has been lost on all of the Democrats except for Barack Obama.
