Happy Thanksgiving

November 24, 2016

I just wanted to take a moment to wish all America’s Watchtower readers a very happy Thanksgiving and also to thank you for all the support over the last year. I hope you all have a wonderful day surrounded by family, food, and friends. I have been a little under the weather the last couple of days, perfect timing isn’t it?

I would also like to take a moment to remember those who cannot be home today because they are serving our nation abroad, it is because of people like them that we are afforded this luxury. Thank you!

Psalm 50:14 “Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High”

Hebrews 13:15 :By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”

I wish all of me friends here, as well as ones that are not friends a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We celebrated ours yesterday with the kids and grandkids and Nana is tired as hell, but very thankful we got to see all of them. They were able to come for 5 days. There is always so much to do when they are here and alot of cooking, clean up and starting over again. I have finally decide, in my ripe OLD age, that I can pick up AFTER the grandkids go home, I will just enjoy the chaos and total mess while they are here and worry about the rest after they leave. We played games, ate, did the car racetracks, ate, movies, ate, bath time, ate….the common thing that held it all together was we ATE, haha. I do not care if I eat for a week, but will probably revise that a bit later today. At least I have plenty of left overs for a few days IF we ever get hungry, again. We had one of our friends over that is going thru a rough divorce, he laughed and talked alot, so maybe that helped him take his mind off of his problems, at least for one day. That and sending him home with some food probably helped, as well. Well that and all the bottles of wine we opened up. I am now trying to put the house back in order, but now it seems too quiet….funny how that works, no kids, no noise…wish they were back running the hallways and asking for a “snack”…haha. Now we have to wait until Christmas to go to their house to visit….a couple of years ago, we headed down there, SOUTH, so we figured we would not take anything heavy to wear…well, we took the cold with us, they ended up with 10 inches of snow while were there…that had not happened before. This time, we will take heavier stuff with us “just in case”. Well, best get back to all the things I put off while we visited….stuff has a way of not getting done unless I DO them. Funny how that works. Take care all!

I’m one of those people who can fall down the rabbit hole of “unproductive” thought. I told this in confession, and the priest told me to list the things I am grateful for as penitence.
In other words, giving thanks for all I DO HAVE.
I started this a while ago, and it truly does help. (and a couple good election results don’t hurt either)
Wishing the best for our Watchtower “community”.

It is hard not to focus on the negative the last few years…we have had so little positive anything. But, guess if we focus closer to home and less on the politics side, maybe that makes it a bit easier. When we stand back and look at our lives minus what goes on in the State and Federal levels, maybe that is what your priest means!

Thanks Bruce and yes it is good to focus on the good instead of the bad. We must remember always to be content with what we have.

It is always easier to spend someone elses money, isn’t it?
