Donald Trump picks Scott Pruitt to head the EPA

December 7, 2016

It is being reported in this story that Donald Trump has selected Scott Pruitt to head the EPA. I have to admit that I do not know anything about this guy but here is what The New York Times had to say about this news:

President-elect Donald J. Trump has selected Scott Pruitt, the Oklahoma attorney general and a close ally of the fossil fuel industry, to run the Environmental Protection Agency, a transition official said, signaling Mr. Trump’s determination to dismantle President Obama’s efforts to counter climate change.

Mr. Pruitt, a Republican, has been a key architect of the legal battle against Mr. Obama’s climate change policies, actions that fit with the president-elect’s comments during the campaign. Mr. Trump has criticized the established science of human-caused global warming as a hoax, vowed to “cancel” the Paris accord committing nearly every nation to taking action to fight climate change, and attacked Mr. Obama’s signature global warming policy, the Clean Power Plan, as a “war on coal.”

Mr. Pruitt, 48, who has emerged as a hero to conservative activists, is also one of a number of Republican attorneys general who have formed an alliance with some of the nation’s top energy producers to push back against the Obama regulatory agenda, a 2014 investigation by The New York Times revealed.

A couple of days ago I was very concerned after hearing the news that Donald Trump met with Al Gore to discuss global warming with Al Gore coming out of that meeting feeling pretty good but now my concerns have been eased a bit. I still have some concerns over Ivanka Trump and her reported desire to become her father’s climate czar and wonder what type of relationship she has with the world’s leading climate pimp but I am feeling a little better about this situation today.

I just listened to Tucker Carlson and the Greenies are going wacko over his pick of this fellow so kudos for the pick apparently.

It sure is comforting knowing that the mud puddle in your backyard along with your BBQ grill may no longer be subject to SPA regulations. But we need to keep an eye on Ivanka, the unknown climate change variable. Once again follow the money.

Yes, this is good news and maybe people will not be fined for collecting rain water any more but I am worried about Ivanka and the influence she seems to have on her dad.

    Hey, Steve.

Scott Pruitt has been a thorn in the side of the EPA for some time. From Oklahoma, he has fought a lot of battles against their nonsensical regulations. I think he will do a good job and will rein them way back. I’ll guarantee that the environmental wack jobs are going crazy over Pruitt running the EPA.

“Pruitt was elected Oklahoma’s attorney general in November 2010 and has focused on restoring more regulatory oversight to states and limiting federal regulations.” Zero hedge

This is the type of person you want if you are going to shrink the federal government’s overreach. Most states have their own evironmental departments and regulations. There are different approaches and needs which are unique to each state.

The goal should be environmental stewardship.

I like how he is tarred as a climate change denier just because he said the science is not settled. Hahaha Science is never settled otherwise its not science.

That’s a plus. Need to gut that whole agency and make it to be what it’s suppose to be rather than it being used for the the Agenda – deliberate oil spills, fires, unplugging old mines and polluting the rivers and downstream agriculture (CO), etc. Pro-envirorment rather than anti!

The way I see it, Trump wants to hear all sides of what he may not know alot about. It is just as important to hear what the left has to say, as much as the right. He will file that info away, I do not think he will be adding Al Gore to his list of people he will want to put in his Administration, but he needs to see and hear that side of what is going on. I am not going to jump to conclusions like the media is doing to say that Trump is not following thru with his promises. That is exactly what they want us to do! He is doing a great job, so far, of the people he is putting into critical positions…let’s let him do his thing…he IS a very smart and shrewd man….we could have done lots worse.

I cannot see Gore having any influence on him either but it is his daughter I am worried about. Perhaps Trump is playing a game with the left to make it look as if he is reaching out to them.
