Donald Trump signs Executive Order to ‘ease the burdens’ of Obamacare
One of Donald Trump’s first acts as President was to sign an Executive Order (here we go again with the Executive Orders) directing agencies to “ease the burdens” of Obamacare related costs by seeing what they could do to cut back on burdensome regulations. Here is more:
Trump says in the order that he will be seeking “prompt repeal” of the Affordable Care Act. Pending full repeal, however, he will “take all actions consistent with law to minimize the unwarranted economic and regulatory burdens of the Act.” He also says the executive order will give individual states “more flexibility and control to create a more free and open healthcare market.”
The executive order continues:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services (Secretary) and the heads of all other executive departments and agencies (agencies) with authorities and responsibilities under the Act shall exercise all authority and discretion available to them to waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation of any provision or requirement of the Act that would impose a fiscal burden on any State or a cost, fee, tax, penalty, or regulatory burden on individuals, families, healthcare providers, health insurers, patients, recipients of healthcare services, purchasers of health insurance, or makers of medical devices, products, or medications.

The order changes nothing immediately and doesn’t spell out exactly what Trump would like his government to do. But it sends a strong symbolic message to his supporters, while offering some clues to his direction.
In a way this action reminds me of when Barack Obama issued an Executive Order to shut down GITMO on his first day in office and we all know how that turned out. I am sick and tired of all these “symbolic” gestures but perhaps Politico is right when they write this sends a message to the Congress. However the article does suggest this could be the end of the individual mandate, we will have to wait and see because I am not sure it can be eliminated by Executive Order but it looks like the wheels have been put in motion.

I heard on one of the ‘enemy’ news feeds (main stream) them boasting about Obama “working” signing in regulations and things minutes before leaving the WH. May all those and all of his other ‘quick signs’ be ‘trashed.’ Reverse and overturn all he’s done and that would be a good start!
May God make good these ‘good intentions’ and ‘signs of refreshment – rescuing America from the cesspool/pit (especially in thought/thinking – which would solve much of the simple mindedness going on – protest and rioting).

I heard the news about Trump ordering a stop on all regulations, in fact I am probably going to do a quick post on it tonight, and I have to say I think he is off to a good start.

This is from a white paper written by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons
“Actions that could be taken by the Trump Administration include adopting a policy of non-enforcement of any penalties for not purchasing health insurance, refusing to bail out insurers, and abiding by the district court decision in U.S. House of Representatives v. Burwell, which declared the taxpayer subsidies on the health insurance exchanges to be illegal. Supporters of ObamaCare are already attempting to intervene in the U.S. House of Representatives v. Burwell case, but the judiciary is no more than a co-equal branch of government. Incoming President Trump was elected to dismantle ObamaCare, and he should make clear that the judiciary lacks “the power of the purse” and the enforcement authority that are proper.”
I guess the President would ihave to issue an Executive Order to tell his Cabinet Secretaries what his policy is n the ACA and what action he wants them to take. Tell the IRS not to collect the penalty for those individuals who do not buy insurance.
