Politico: ‘Donald Trump might be more popular than you think’

 Many of us on the right came to the conclusion long ago that the mainstream media was using polls on various issues not to gauge public opinion, but rather to influence public opinion and drive the liberal narrative by trying to convince the American people into what they should believe by telling us what the majority of the American people think, or more accurately, how the mainstream media wanted to portray what the majority of the American people are thinking.

  The most recent and glaring example of this was the polls leading up to last November’s Presidential election: we were told that Hillary Clinton was headed to a landslide victory and that Donald Trump did not stand a chance to become the next President of the United States.

  The polls were wrong because they were based on the national popular vote and not the Electoral College and this was done purposely in an attempt to stifle the conservative vote. Why go to the polls for a lost cause?

  But the cause was not lost because the polling system was intentionally flawed and conservative voters realized what the game was. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, as predicted, but Donald Trump won the votes which counted because the voters were no longer listening to the mainstream media and they realized the popular vote means nothing. If Hillary Clinton realized this and campaigned properly perhaps she would be the President but she bought into the flawed polls and assumed she was the heir apparent…

  Now the mainstream media is focused on the violent anti-Trump protests and are once again trying to drive the narrative instead of reporting the news. This is understandable but at the same time it is being used to drive the narrative that Donald Trump is unpopular when in fact he might be more popular than the mainstream media would like to admit.

  Politico, the left-leaning website which is part of the problem but every once in awhile stumbles upon the truth in a random act of journalism, in an attempt to resurrect its reputation after November’s election,  is now admitting that despite the mainstream media’s assertion that Donald Trump is very unpopular after only two weeks in office he might be more popular than the mainstream media is leading the American people to believe.

Just how popular is Donald Trump? Two weeks into the new president’s term, it’s a matter of some dispute.

Traditional phone polls that use live interviewers — including some of the most trusted polls in politics and media — report limited support for Trump and the controversial executive orders he’s signed. But automated phone and Internet-based surveys tell a different story. Once the element of anonymity is added, the president’s approval ratings suddenly look a lot better.

It’s reigniting the campaign debate over whether pollsters are accurately measuring Trump’s popularity — or the breadth of support for his policies. The White House is already seizing on the issue, and forcefully pushing back against the early narrative that the president is suffering from historically bad polling numbers.

At Friday’s White House press briefing, when asked to comment on a newly-released CBS News poll — conducted by live interviewers — which put Trump’s approval rating at only 40 percent, press secretary Sean Spicer was ready with an alternate data point.

“I think there’s also a Rasmussen poll that showed he had a 51-percent approval rating,” Spicer replied sharply.

  But even that was wrong:

In referring to an automated poll that put the president’s popularity in the black, Spicer actually understated Trump’s level of support. According to Rasmussen Reports’ most recent survey released Friday, 54 percent of likely voters approved of the president’s job performance.

The debate is a flashback to last fall’s election — in which Trump ran ahead of his poll numbers, particularly in the Upper Midwest states that propelled him to victory. And just like during the campaign season, there’s evidence suggesting that Americans may be less willing to admit they support the president and his actions if they are talking to another person on the phone, compared to polls completed with the anonymity of the internet or an automated phone interface.

    The left might be more vocal (and more violent) than the right is and as such they get the headlines in the mainstream media but the right is focused while anarchy is reigning on the left because they bought into the mainstream media’s narrative which has been shown to be false and until they realize what is going on they will continue to be what can best be described as useful idiots. 

  Personally I hope this continues because the left has become unhinged and it is actually entertaining. If they do not come to the realization that the majority of the American people do not feel the way they do they will relegate themselves into obscurity.
