Constitutional carry is coming to New Hampshire

February 10, 2017

The 2016 election was a bit of an oddity in New Hampshire because while we sent all Democrats to Washington the Republicans won big time on the state level. In addition to winning the governor’s seat for the first time in 12 years the Republicans have a big majority in the House and a majority in the Senate and Executive Council.

The ramifications are already being felt with a balanced budget that includes no new taxes or fees, and as usual no sales or income tax, while at the same time spending more money on education, healthcare, nursing homes, and the opiate crisis.

And now the State House has approved constitutional carry and it is headed to Governor Sununu’ desk for his signature. Here is more:

New Hampshire is on the verge of repealing a state law that requires Granite Staters to have a permit to carry a concealed firearm.

The House of Representatives voted 200 to 97 Thursday to pass Senate Bill 12, which previously passed the state Senate.

Gov. Chris Sununu, R-Newfields, has endorsed such a repeal. The legislation now makes its way to his desk.

“Constitutional carry is now a done deal,” Rep. John Burt, R-Goffstown, said after the House vote.

malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium

You will be able to sleep like a baby! Once the thieves can’t figure out who does or doesn’t, they may be bright enough to realize the odds might be stacked against them.

Good news indeed! We will be joining Maine and Vermont in this area.

I am sorry to say, here in Illinois we have had to fight to get the right to take classes and pay big bucks to carry….the right I believe we should all have. We go thru background checks in the County, State and Federal databases. I would say by the time that is done, we are pretty squeaky clean, but still are looked at like there is something wrong with us for wanting to be able to not be a victim if at all possible. The rules for us are not the rules for someone without a Conceal Carry, we are kept to a higher standard. I can respect that, but what about those that carry illegally….. Good old Illinois, you cannot make any of this stuff up! This is because, even with a Republican Governor from this last election, his hands are tied by The Madigans, Lisa and her daddy Mike. He was voted back in, shocked, I know….but he controls the strings. We cannot catch a break here.
I am holding out hope that with our new President, things “might” change around here, but who knows. They are looking at another tax hike, like any of us can afford that. They are also tossing around the idea of Illinois becoming a Sanctuary STATE, that is wrong on so many levels, I won’t even get into it. Chicago controls the State, bottom line. It is a sad day that crooks can keep control for years here, but that is what has happened. We, as a whole, are Conservatives, except for the Chicago area and I believe a couple other counties. So, you might wonder WHY we cannot wrestle the State back??? Hmmmmm……voter fraud? Your guess is as good as mine, it is probably a number of things. We are not able to move out of State, too many strings keeping us here, but there may be a time that we have no choice. I think that Illinois is forcing so many people to move that they are going to find out the well has dried up…..

It is too bad that one or two big urban areas which don’t represent the whole state have so much sway in the elections. I think the same is true for New York as well.
Here is New Hampshire we could always by a gun and carry it open without a permit but you needed a permit to carry concealed but that is now going to change. I have bought two guns on different occasions and I always faced a background check with the town police which usually only took about ten minutes.

Apparently you do not look threatening if it only took ten minutes !

Yep, I had one in ’73 I deserved in the 340 Cuda and one in ’80 in an Omni that I did not deserve (like an Omni would go over 60, haha)…that is MY claim to fame……but it was my aliases that they were checking out…I have my maiden name and my married name….those are my aliases???? Every time I get my FOID card renewed, they do that to me…think they would be used to it by now, but guess not. I have had the Pentagon check me out and for the CC, so maybe they will let up on this old lady???

Wow! They consider a maiden name to be an alias?! That is just outrageous!

I am talking about Illinois here. If there is a buck to be sucked out of a citizen that is still able to pay taxes, they will start sucking, haha!

So your telling us NH is a better place to reside than in NJ? We have the nations highest real estate taxes, highest auto ins rates, a crumbling infrastructure including roads and bridges with a depleted highway trust fund (where’d dat money go yo?) which justified a 23 cents per gallon tax increase recently, road repair and construction costs that are 12 times the national average and each citizen has an $11,000 obligation to the state while the national average is $800. Come on Steve, haven’t you heard our state’s tourism slogan “NJ and you, perfect together.” Come on down Steve and try to get a gun permit. it would be easier to blow yourself in Macy’s window. Oh yeah did I mention our republican governor diddled for eight years in which he appointed a muslim to the state bench and swapped spit with Obama on the beach after hurricane sandy. The jury is still out on his part in closing the GW Bridge during morning rush hour for political payback. This is Obama/Clinton territory Steve so again, come on down!!!! Of course this is all anecdotal since I will cite no sources for these facts and figures. Hey I’m from Jersey.😎🔫

Down with the creeps, up with those who are winners and pressing toward making America Great Again! If ‘repetition’ is used by our enemy (media/press/entertainment) to “program us to their stupidity and sickness of mind”, then words like quality, greatness, wisdom, glory, godliness, value, worth, winners be our bullets! Things of “good worth” to pass along to your little ones, equipping them to one day stand strong for “right, good and noble”! (a bit sappy, I know, but pressing on to that is better than allowing the other to waste our time and mind)!

I agree, move forward and not let the left define us. Who cares what they think about us anyway?

Come on up to NH, we could still use more like you! Our property taxes are high but at least there are no sales or income tax. I think there are only two states in the nation that don’t have one or the other and we seem to be doing okay without them.

Here in NV an old timer came into the Care and Share wearing his John Wayne – very neat looking & large – revolver resting in the quality hand tooled leather holster. I complimented on it and asked if he had a permit to carry. He said, “The Constitution gives me that right!” I agreed with him on that! He gave me the gun to look at and you could just sense the power of it – heavy and ready for action! It put the “reality” in my mind, unlike a tv show! Ha, those tinhorn, tenderfoot, blow bags turn tail when this old Western looked at them! haha.
    Here’s something OT but related:

When ‘bad’ people are in positions of power/authority bad things happen and they are obstructionist of the good for others! (Steve, remember when we were considering how the insane -global leaders – were using the word ‘obstruction’ for people of ‘quality and value’ (the sane minded) impeding their course down the poop tube? This shows in fact that it’s ‘them’ not us who are the dissonant perpetrators – traitors.)

We always seem to focus on only the left and what they are doing to take the country down…..I think this was a good video because we know there are those on the right that are equally involved in doing the same thing…thanks for sharing, I copied and pasted and sent it on to others.

Yes, in the end it is the people vs the establishment and when push comes to shove the establishment will always stick together internally even though they pretend to be at odds on display.

Makes you wonder what happens to a big portion of the ones we put into office out in DC, doesn’t it? There are a handful that stick to what they ran on, but so many more that just go “establishment” on us and come out after years of voting against us, as millionaires….

They are either “made an offer they can’t refuse” or they are seduced by the money and power. I think it is likely both.
