Sunday, February 19th open thread: ‘Fireproof’

February 19, 2017

open-threadHere is the open thread for Sunday, February 19th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week  we discussed 5 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!

Here is Pillar performing “Fireproof” from 2011:

You sure have more energy than me Steve!
Here’s one that came to mind this morning:

“… words wouldn’t come in an easy way …” because LOVE makes us think differently!

This shows how far the America culture and mindset has fallen into the pit:

Yeah, that first video was a little more mellow than the one I shared! 🙂 The second one did a great job of exposing the reality of Trump protests verses the propaganda we are constantly fed.

I was listening to a female reported speaking at Sean Spicer and had to turn it off. She’s repulsive. All that beauty on the outside and ugliness on the inside – spewing out of her. She wouldn’t let him speak – totally disrespectful and sickening – talking over him with her ‘scripted words’. Disgusting people – she and those like her.
“Stop Doing That!” Sean Spicer Explodes on reporter
If you can handle watching a bit of it:

        An arrogent piranha.

I did listen to some of it but like you I couldn’t make it through the whole thing, I guess she is the personification of the saying “beauty is only skin deep.” And of course what is inside a person is what really counts.

Zip, they want that one “gotcha” sound bite…so they keep hammering at a person and their sentence is worded as such, so they get someone to say what they want. The best thing to do is NOT talk to them…I am so tired of the vicious questions…..

Exactly Lou, just stop talking to them. Trump is making strides in this by ignoring the liberal outlets and by using Twitter and it is driving the MSM crazy!

The song title reminds me of Daniel 3:25 – God ‘made them’ Fireproof “… Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
The three (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) had been tossed into the burning fiery furnace, for not bowing down to worship the image of gold the king had made – but “the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.” They knew God could deliver them from the hands of the king, but if He didn’t they still wouldn’t bow down “we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” Account: Dan 3

I forgot about Daniel being made fireproof but this is a great catch by you because Pillar is a Christian band. Check out some of the lyrics from the song:
Now you know what I’m all about
There’s no chance I’ll ever doubt
The only one who can control me
      I extol the Almighty
You want me to put it on the line
And give yield to you this time
See but I won’t compromise and I realize
      It’s my time to rise
You’ll never take me in the fire
You’ll never take my own desire

All to Him we owe! Since we can’t do what needs to be done – because of our sin nature – He did it all for us, a gift to be received.
        I figured you’d remember that story! 🙂

I did remember it once you reminded me! I am almost done with reading the NT again, (NIV and KJV) although when I say “almost” it takes much more time to read and digest the Bible than it does with a normal book so it will probably take some time. Once I finish the NT again I want to go back and read different books including Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes. Job and Daniel are also on my list. There is just so much to digest and I don’t want to rush it because there is so much to learn, if you rush it you miss valuable lessons.

Everyone must be out doing ‘things’ today ~ so I’ll post this “controversial” subject:

Also, the CA levees haven’t been maintained as they should and with all that water it’s causing problems. So, even though the Oroville dam is secure enough those down the hill aren’t over the hurdle.
Recently CA threatened to ‘secede’ and now Gov. Brown is asking for Trump’s help – so he sent them FEMA.

Instead of spending money on maintaining their infrastructure they’re now ‘seeing the results’.

Interesting take on the dam situation and I remember those illuminati cards, you probably shared a video about them before, and it is pretty creepy that so much of it has come true but it cannot be a coincidence.

These ‘humans’ run on a Bottom Feeder mentality Lou. Just like the media (as you stated above) parasites – dark and infested creatures of the cesspool!

Another original Zip, very well done! Thanks for sharing this, I have already decided to boycott them and I think many Americans are and that is why they are getting so worried. The ironic part is the more they are ignored the more insane they become and it will be their undoing.

$70 is outrageous enough and they want to raise it to $300?! Here in New Hampshire it is $10 for a five year permit to carry concealed and we are about to get constitutional carry.

Depends on how greedy your state is…our state wants to fund every “gimmie” available to draw in more illegals and people that want to abuse the system and have nothing wrong with them. I do not mind if they are truly disabled, but when I see people walking into a store in better shape than I am, I have to draw the line. I know there are ones that you do not see what is wrong with them and I understand them needing some help, but there are a hell of a lot that have absolutely nothing wrong, but they are lazy….our state keeps upping the taxes just to be sure and attract more of those lazy people so they can sit on the front porch and wait for their check to come while those of us still working or paying taxes are footing the bills for them. Pisses me off,,,,sorry.

I have no problem with temporary assistance to those in need while they get back on their feet but there needs to be a crackdown on people who are abusing it. I agree 100%.

Steve, in this state, if Mama has a Section 8 voucher for paying most of their rent and they pay a small amount, then when the kids get to 16 or 18, they can get their own voucher….doesn’t mean they are disabled mentally or physically, but it is an entitlement just like the parent…tell me how that is right? We have generation after generation going on the dole and for no other reason than the parents were. This state, and in particular my county has really, really good benefits and the ones from Chicago (Cook county) come down here for those bennies. We have great housing, guess we need to get more put up so more people can move in…..

Yep. it is Steve. One generation after another and they are all proud of it. Most times there is nothing wrong with the kids, but they are still awarded that voucher for their own place. Most times they already have a kid or two. I am not being racist here, in case anyone wants to say it. There are as many whites as there are blacks doing this. They quit going to school, as well, so they are never going to be job hunting and trying to make a better life for themselves. That is what they have learned and that is why it continues.
The Section 8 program is all geared in their favor, not the landlords. They can tear a house up and they just complain to Section 8 and they come and look and make the landlord fix everything up at our own expense, just to have it happen again and again. That is why we are down to 1 Section 8 house and once that person moves, it will not ever be Section 8 again. Is it any wonder why someone doesn’t want to better themself?
