That time when Chris Matthews said Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons…
Press Secretary Sean Spicer has come under fire, and rightfully so, for making the stupid remark that even Adolf Hitler did not use chemical weapons during WWII. Some Democrats, most notably Nancy Pelosi, have called on Sean Spicer to resign because of this mistake.
While I cannot state emphatically enough how remarkably dumb this mistake was that is all it was–a mistake–and I do not see any reason for him to resign over this. The left will seize any opportunity to try to take down anyone in the Trump regime and this is the latest example.
It is funny, but I do not remember anyone on the left calling for Chris Matthews resignation in 2013 when he said the same thing while defending Barack Obama. Here is what he said:
“If you basically lay — put down a red line and say don’t use chemical weapons, and it’s been enforced in the Western community, around the world — international community for decades — don’t use chemical weapons. We didn’t use them in World War II, Hitler didn’t use them.”
If Sean Spicer’s remarks make him an anti-Semite who needs to resign for his lack of historical understanding why does Chris Matthews still have a job? What a bunch of hypocrites these people are…
malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium
Is it anti-Semitic when self hating Jews back and vote for every loathsome Jew hating liberal politician coming down the pike? is it anti-women when women say nothing about the muslim world denigrating women on every level imaginable? Is it anti-gay when gays say nothing about the murder of gays in muslim countries on religious and just plain bigoted grounds? Of course not but when a jerk off on the right opens his mouth and inserts his foot its time to raise hell. Nothing new here.

Quite the double standard here…

No doubt he was thinking of weapons used in the field of battle. Mustard gas was abhorrent to civilized society so that “rules of war” included the non use. How absurd. Rules of war. Dead is dead, one way or another. There were rules at one time that both sides line up in a row and marched forward to their death.. bizarre.

Yeah, Spicer used an analogy about bombing with chemical weapons. I understood what he was trying to say but he did screw it up and the left jumped on it.

Matthews wasn’t representing the President of the United States at the time, if memory serves.
Take good care and may God Bless us all!
