Nancy Pelosi to face primary challenge from Bernie Sanders supporter

  For the last several years there has been talk about  civil war within the Republican party and while it is true there are differences within the party that carry over even today between the President and the conservative Republicans with the establishment Republicans all is not well within the Democratic party either. 

  While the Democrats in Washington are united against Donald Trump there is trouble still brewing with the Democratic voters which spilled into the limelight during the last election. I am talking about the Bernie Sanders supporters who understand that the primary was rigged and their candidate never had a chance to win the nomination, even Bernie Sanders’ eventual endorsement of Hillary Clinton did not help to ameliorate the problem. Many of these voters either stayed home or voted for Gary Johnson and time has not healed this wound.

  If the Democratic establishment felt these voters would come back to the fold because they had nowhere else to go they were sadly mistaken. Reminiscent of the Tea Party fight against the establishment Republicans of years gone by Bernie Sanders supporters have vowed to primary establishment Democrats. First up is Nancy Pelosi, here is more:

Nancy Pelosi’s challenger, employment attorney Stephen Jaffe, recently launched his campaign.

“Two words: Bernie Sanders,” Jaffe said in an interview with the Observer when asked why he was running for Congress. “My goal is to try to pull the Democratic Party away from the establishment, corporations, big money, big oil, big pharma, and return it to the people.”

“I think Ms. Pelosi has served long and—for the most part—well. But, from my observations of the last year or so, particularly in her Town Halls with voters, I think she’s really out of touch with the voters in San Francisco. I think the district needs to be represented by someone more in touch with the voters and the constituents here, and I think I’m that person.”

  It appears as if the Democratic voters have finally figured out that it is not only the Republicans who take money from corporations, big oil, big pharma, and millionaires and billionaires. The Democratic voters talk a good game when it comes to special interests but to paraphrase Bill Maher when he was talking about Barack Obama getting $400,000 for a Wall Street speech, it appears it is okay when their side does it…

    But Nancy Pelosi is not the only one in the target of Bernie Sanders supporters, this has the potential to happen all across the country:

Pelosi’s attitude has incited Sanders supporters to recruit progressive candidates to challenge establishment Democrats in their primary elections.

  The sad part of this is that the Republicans were handed a golden opportunity–the Democrats are still in denial about why they lost the election, failing to look at their own troubles and blaming everybody including the Russians for their loss instead of looking in the mirror, voters are turning against the establishment Democrats, and their rhetoric is getting so over the top they are starting to look foolish–and for the most part the Republicans have blown the opportunity due to their establishment’s opposition to an outsider.
