Rex Tillerson signs Arctic Council agreements linking global warming to human activity

May 13, 2017

tillersonDonald Trump promised us the United States would back out of the Paris climate agreement, however that was before he appointed Ivanka Trump to head a review of the agreement. Since then he has decided to postpone a decision on whether or not the United States would honor the agreement.

With the election of Donald Trump it seemed as if the global warming hysteria and propaganda would die down however Ivanka Trump is a global warming alarmist who apparently has quite a bit of sway with her father so this news raised red flags with me.

Now we are learning that Rex Tillerson has signed two agreements with the Arctic Council to remain in the council and these agreements also affirm global warming as a man-made problem.

  Here is more:

The Arctic Council, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, has proven to be an indispensable forum in which we can pursue cooperation,” Tillerson said in remarks to the council. “I want to affirm that the United States will continue to be an active member in this council.”

“Foreign ministers of the eight Arctic States signed the third binding agreement negotiated under the auspices of the Arctic Council, the ‘Agreement on Enhancing International Arctic Scientific Cooperation,’ which will help to facilitate entry and exit of persons, equipment, and material; access to research infrastructure and facilities; access to research areas; the use of traditional and local knowledge; and education, career development, and training opportunities for students and early-career scientists,” the council press release said.
Okay, that sounds reasonable, but then there is this:

Further recognizing that activities taking place outside the Arctic region, including activities occurring in Arctic States, are the main contributors to climate change effects and pollution in the Arctic, and underlining the need for action at all levels,

Noting with concern that the Arctic is warming at more than twice the rate of the global average, resulting in widespread social, environmental, and economic impacts in the Arctic and worldwide, and the pressing and increasing need for mitigation and adaptation actions and to strengthen resilience,

Noting the entry into force of the Paris Agreement on climate change and its implementation, and reiterating the need for global action to reduce both long-lived greenhouse gases and short-lived climate pollutants.

Maybe it is a good idea to stay in the Arctic Council and the Paris agreement just to have a voice so things do not get out of control but I fear Donald Trump is on the verge of a major flip-flop on global warming.

We need hell to freeze over while Ivanka is vacationing there for her to maybe see the errors of her ways. I’m not Holdrum by my globally warmed breath.

They’d cut global gases by not gathering together in one place like cattle – that might help. Bunch of blow-bags, maybe they are to blame for global warming where they collect together.

We are supposed to ignore the fact they go to these conferences in private jets and with big motorcades… 😉

They remind me of the pharisees and the teachers of the law who Jesus called out for enjoying their positions for glory instead of doing it for the proper reasons.
