James Comey’s memos contained classified information

July 10, 2017

Earlier today it was reported here that more than half of James Comey’s personal memos he took of conversations between himself and Donald Trump did indeed contain classified information. Here is more:

More than half of the memos former FBI Director James Comey wrote as personal recollections of his conversations with President Trump about the Russia investigation have been determined to contain classified information, according to interviews with officials familiar with the documents.

This revelation raises the possibility that Comey broke his own agency’s rules and ignored the same security protocol that he publicly criticized Hillary Clinton over in the waning days of the 2016 presidential election.

Comey testified last month before the Senate Intelligence Committee that he considered the memos to be personal documents and that he shared at least one of them with a friend. He asked that friend, a law professor at Columbia University, to leak information from one memo to the news media in hopes of increasing pressure to get a special prosecutor named in the Russia case after Comey was fired as FBI director.

Needless to say the right ran with the “news” that James Comey leaked classified information and should be prosecuted, it was all over Facebook today. Donald Trump even tweeted this:

However, that is not what the story reported: the story reported that more than half of James Comey’s memos contained classified information. The former FBI director has claimed he leaked “at least one” memo to a friend and asked that friend to leak the contents of one of those memos. We do not know if the memo that was eventually leaked to the press contained classified information at this time.

This news is still troubling because by admitting he leaked “at least one” memo James Comey is basically admitting he leaked more than one and it is possible one of the other emails contained classified information. If one of them did than James Comey is probably guilty of mishandling classified information even if it did not make it to the press.

One thing is certain however; this news means that it is time for more scrutiny to be given to James Comey and the possibility he mishandled classified information for purely partisan reasons. Charles Grassley opened an investigation into James Comey’s firing and now it is time to investigate James Comey.

I saw that Tweet. Yep, it’s OK though w/ the lie-enablers because he gave it to one of their reporter’s! I was watching part of Trump and Hilly debating and Trump stated then he would have open communication w/ the public about things going on ~ and he’s doing that w/ Twitter. (I’m not saying the guy’s a saint, just stating just as Bari said he was going to increase fuel and utilities cost – he did that – Trump is doing his Tweets.)
    By now everyone knows everyone else’s secrets! or they should – at least America’s thanks to Bari, Hilly and Comey! {Will any of them be held accountable?🤔 if not in this world, they will have to answer some to the very One they don’t want to exist!}
There are some that work in the FBI & CIA that really do want to make a difference for GOOD. Problem is only the shyster’s seem to get in decision making positions and the ‘real workers of integrity’ are used to do their dirty work and take the fall – or are taken out if they discover what’s really going on – nothing new under the sun, the corrupt’s good is bad.

The only problem I have with him using Twitter is like a couple of weeks ago where he was having a good week and all the focus was taken off of it by a tweet. Not that the media wasn’t looking for anything to distract them, they probably would have found something else anyway.

Yes, pros and cons. I guess I just find it nice to have a Pres. who communicates with the public something – other than lies. After having such ‘scum’ in the WH, Trump sending off ‘one tweet’ in many that isn’t ‘spot on’ and rattles the cages of the ‘snake den’ it’s still refreshing! The snakes and reptilians in the world will always divert the focus – just like their master: Ye shall not surely die

I do like him bypassing the media, he knows they are his enemy, but sometimes he needs to just let it go in order to avoid distraction. To finish you last sentence, ye shall be like gods.

    Taken from zerohedge.

“So you didn’t consider your memo or your sense of that conversation to be a government document?,” Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) asked Comey on June 8. “You considered it to be, somehow, your own personal document that you could share to the media as you wanted through a friend?”

“Correct,” Comey answered. “I understood this to be my recollection recorded of my conversation with the president. As a private citizen, I thought it important to get it out.”

How Comey determined he was a “private citizen” is staggering! Trump met with the FBI Director not a private citizen. Only a lawyer could ever come up with this distorted view of reality. The legal profession in the US needs a completely overhauled if this is how little regard they have for ethics.

Good catch about him being a “private citizen” I missed that part before. How can he be a private citizen in a meeting with the President while being FBI Director?!
